Sleeping late, hot showers, rainy days, roses blooming, mashed potatoes, a good glass of wine, a long drive with your favorite CD, crisp fall air, laughing with your best friends until your stomachs hurt, brand spankin' new babies, hot Krispy Kreme doughnuts, SNOW!, a goooood book and all the time in the world to read it, a loving family, teeny-tiny kittens and puppies, four-leaf clovers, airports (I'm weird that way), kisses in secret...happiness is a lot of little things together!

I realized that I never was truly happy until I had my son. He has shown me what real happiness is.
I remember the first time he told me he loved me, I thought my heart was going to explode.

. . . at times as illusive as a butterfly nymph . . . as tangible as a gold ring and diamonds . . . as esoteric as the morning mist on a winter pond . . . as realistic as the touch of a lover . . . craved for as much as a drop of water for a man stranded in a desert . . as fulfilling as a Thanksgiving luncheon complete with pumpkin pie and ice-cream . . . and yet, as inaudible as a whisper amidst a busy city street . . . or as intangible as the last hug you never gave to a loved one before death . . . or as unattainable as an olympic marathon medal to a wheel chair bound paraplegic . . . A God granted gift, and NOT a God given right . . . Something to be cherished once found, and only allowed to slip through your fingers at the risk of everlasting peril . . . But mostly: Not sought for self-gain; neither to be bottled and corked for possible future usage; nor to be sneered at as "something that can be bought over a store counter - cheaply!", for - despite our diligent searches for it, we mostly miss it when it is right under our noses . . . . Count yourself lucky if it finds you!!!
