Odds are, yes. Right now you can make a case for about 10 teams having a legitimate shot at winning it, 2 of whom are from California. So odds are 5:1 it will be leaving according to my math.

Probably not
It's pretty much the "do or die" season for the Sharks. I would say if they don't reach the Finals heads will roll but the West is tough so at the very least they must have a competitive Conference Finals appearance. With that most people would agree that the Western Conference Finals is pretty much the Stanley Cup Finals.
It's too soon to tell because nobody can foresee injuries but The Shark and Ducks are great picks none the less with a favorable schedule they get the Coyotoes and Kings 16 times and Dallas which play competitive brand of hockey for 8. Including their own match ups which are playoff caliber.
Don't look for much too come out of the Central division except the Wings but losing Nashville as a sparring mate leaves them with 32 cup cake games which in the past they have got fat on.
The Northwest is almost too competitive for its own good, while the Oilers may not be a playoff team, they are a notch above the Kings, Coyotes and most Central teams and are a tough road game for other teams. The Flames, Wild, Avalance and Canucks are all good teams and each match-up is playoff quality also the Canucks and Flames have heated battles with the Oilers to add. There just isn't a night off in divisional play here.
Most of the good teams in East are young and inexperienced come playoff time. The East is also full of poorly assembled teams like a the Rangers a lot of names up front but who is running the defense Fedor Tyutin?

It's very tough to defend the Stanley Cup in today's NHL, and it's going to be very tough for the Sharks to advance past the Ducks. Therefore the odds are that the Cup will leave Cali.

Its a damn shame it is in California at all. It is a shame that it was in Florida, Carolina, and so on. It has no business being in hick south areas at all. It is time to bring it back home to the right side of the mason dixon line.

It already did. You get to borrow it for a bit but it always ends up in the vault of the HHOF in Toronto eventually
