i have never been there but i did a geography project in school once. i learned the rich half of italy is the northern bit and the poor part is southern. also known as:
Northern Italy = urban area
Southern = rural
the south is used mainly for farming and growing crops
the north is used for commercial industries such as retail outlets and housing estates.
thats about all i know about Italy! I learned a lot during that preoject!
Hope i helped a little!!
Ciao!
Love Tinks xoxox
p.s. i went out with an italian before from Milan...not ur average Italian...punk, dreadlocks, baggy jeans...but hey they all definately do have the gift of the gab! when he talked to me in Italian...phwoar!!!
hehe!

I have never been there so i can't comment on the place very much, my guess is that its a very nice place tho as so far i have never met an Italian that i haven't liked..(i've only met a few). I think Italian food is lovely...my friend lived in Italy and cooked us many traditional recipes when he returned.

Your country is a really cool shape compared to Great Britain which looks like a stain left by a dog. Your language and accent is lovely. As for your food, most British babies first words are, ' I'll have Pasta.' My favourite cafe is Italian, I've been going for more than 20 years and it's still the same people serving the same customers! Italians are most welcome in Britain, the first tourists came in 43AD left behind some really nice new roads and a sewerage system which we still never managed to improve, please come back soon, we miss you!XXXX

Brilliant country, great food, wonderful language and of course, beautiful girls.lol
However, they do shout and wave their arms around quite a lot, the culture is a little chaotic and unorganised at times compared to a nation like the germans.
I have had quite a few business dealing with italy and found things to be laid back to the point of unreliable, things running late, sometimes there is no urgency when it was needed.
They are quite warm people on the whole, very family orientated and one of the few countries i would go to live in.

opinion from Lithuania: Italy associate for me with pasta, pizza, mafia, Vatican, pizza tower(don't know how to spell), coliseum and Venetian. I have never been to Italy, but I want very much, I think Italy is nice country, which has a lot famous places to visit, Italian are friendly people, smiles a lot and are a bit lazy:)

I think the Italians should have kept on going for it. I mean, that is where the Romans all started from. Beautiful countryside and very diverse and sincere people too.
