Why do blacks commit so much crime?

They make up 12% of the population, but commit 49% of the crimes in the usa.

By the way, I completely agree with this question.....I think its funny that black people still run a round saying "the man is keeping us down, white people are hurting our reputation", well of course they are, because YOU KEEP BREAKING THE LAW.! What do you expect to happen when you rob stores, shoot each other, and then shoot at the cops....Something really needs to change with this. 40 years ago, black people didnt do this too much....Can anyone say Hip Hop society?


ERIC S: Where is your proof with your accusation that "white people get let off the hook more than black people" ? Its very easy to say that, and society has most people brainwashed into believing that garbage, yet there is no proof of it. Not in todays society, 30 years ago, most def., but not today.

In most cases I believe that the parenting (like said below) has a lot to do with it. ALTHOUGH, the single parent thing is to blame, PARTIALLY. I believe that the parents are also to blame for filling their heads with all this garbage about how, "white people hate us, they are out to get us, they always want to keep a ***** down," and junk like that. The kids grow up believing that no matter what, whitie is gonna take over and trample them.

Simple...Most grow up in a family that only has one parent, Mom. She has to work to support the family, the child learns from outsiders of what life is about. They submit to peer pressure.
They assume the feeling of hopelessness and therefore take, what they consider, the easy way out.
The ones who are enrolled in athletic activities or school programs or have a high I.Q are less likely to commit crimes.

I think it has a lot to do with the hip hop culture. Look at these music videos nowadays. For me, they are hard to even look at. You see all these barely clothed women moving in provocative ways with no elegance. Drugs, alcohol, materlialism. I dont know why blacks embrace this crap so much. Especially after they created jazz and the blues which was so deep to the soul.

I grew up in a neighborhhod that had some blacks in it...they were horrible to live near. I let it go, and deceided that I was being racist. many years go by and i purchase my first home, it took about 3 months to approve loan etc. in that time a black family moved next door..I had no attitude or anything towards them, guess what ? I got my tires slashed 3 times. I went through hell living next to them. The owner of that property had to sell that house, and, the new owners had to take them to court to get them out (9 mos). later, then they move all their stuff and leave it on someone else's vacant property outside. Finally they pick up all their stuff, and the police came around looking for them because the Utruck they rented was reported stolen. and to top all things off, they were selling drugs through their back window (people would walk through the woods) to buy the stuff.

so, what else more can I say?

My black friends are really good people. I wouldnt associate with them if they were acting like thugs. Do not blanket the black race with generalizations. The last time I went out to a bar with one of my closest black friends, we were in 2 altercations in 2 different bars, both started by white redneck types that were to drunk and ignorant to think straight. Both started by racial slurs.

Why do white men commit so many crimes against young, innocent children? The overwhemingly large majority of child sex offenders are middle aged white men.

I think its more of a poverty thing than a black thing.

I know plenty of black people who are upstanding, law abiding citizens and plenty of white people who belong in jail.

two reasons
1. Blacks are typicaly poorer than whites so they grow up in harder circumstances and more likely to break the law.
2. blacks are given harsher treatment by the authority for being black. THis only makes these numbers even worse. White people get let off crimes easier than black people.
