Nope, my daughter just wore her cossie. We went swimming every week and she NEVER had an accident; I think she had stage fright from the sensation of the water! (although I bet there was a sneaky wee)

they only want you to use them because they're frightened of a rogue turd in the pool, as it's tricky (and nasty) to clean...

OMFG at the folks above me! What a heap of drama!! Illegal?? FFS!!!

Yes it is very necessary. Regular diapers (nappy) are not made to go in water, they just soak up the pool water and are of no use when the baby uses the bathroom. They are much cheaper if you buy a pack from the store.

Yes! Of course! There are other kids that share the water, and to think you'd let your child, no matter what age, possibly relieve themselves in a local pool is quite disgusting. It's different at home in the bath, where it's just your kid and you can change the water. It's just common decency to put at least a regular diaper on your child at the local pool.

Yes it is, especially when you take into account babies have vaccinations etc at that age.Other kids could be swallowing water that your baby has peed in, so for health reasons you should use them. You can get a pack of nappies for swimming cheaper at supermarkets.

Yes , we've taken our baby swimming since her first injections & she's filled her nappy a couple of times. We get our swim nappies from boots, they do 10 for about £3.00 which lasts us 10 weeks cos we go once a week.

Most require them... as a matter of public health!!

You can find reusable ones though, the disposables can get expensive after a while.

I know here in the US you can get one for under $10US... for boys - it's all they wear...for girls you can put them under a one piece swim suit or find a coordinating bikini top for it - or just get a pink flower one and go topless :)

Yes. Most require it. If your baby poops in the pool, they would have to shut down the place and clean out the water so no one comes in contact with the e.coli risk.

Are you going to be able to tell when you child is going to poop or pee? If not then I suggest you wear one. My son started wearing them about that age and I'd rather they be on children then see a floater if you know what I mean. Buy them at the same place you buy your regular diapers much cheaper that way.

Buy them from a store where you can get them for cheaper. It's pretty gross to have a diaper on, the inner material breaks up and goes everywhere (with your childs urine or feces on it) and without, that's just disgusting.

I would not say nessary unless the pool makes them. But they are better for everyone. I would say look around at your local stores or ebay for some.
