I did a lot of damage to myself and those around me doing it my way.I do not reccomend it.
I also know that young folks will do what they will do and there is no telling them, just as there was no telling me.
folks either come into the world willing to learn, or they come in ready to fight, and then they learn the hard way.

I have tried to clean up the wreckage of my past as best I can; I continue to live a changed life as atonement and as a gift back to what ever forces in the universe turned me from my willful selfdestruction.

there are things that are permantently lost to me;that is the price I pay,and will continue to pay.
I dont try to steer anyone else, though. It doesnt generally work.I just make myself available when I am needed for others who may be wanting to change.

I will never again be young, beautiful or rich.but I am content and fulfilled...I wonder how many others can say that?

I ran away from home at the age of 15.I got a job(I lied about my age.)I went to night school. It was so much better than living in a home where incest took place.I did a few things that I regret, but for the most part It has worked out well.I'm 50yrs young and have a great husband,3 boys,9 grand babies.Have a Blessed day.

Not until recently, I was always the daughter, the sister, the wife and the mother. I always danced to someone else's tune, but since I got up the courage to end my marriage and live on my own I stopped pleasing every one else and I learned to say no. Now I wish I had done it years ago. People no longer expect, they ask. What a feeling that is.

No, I tried that when I was younger and was always making a mess of things. I have others people's feeling, wants, needs, etc. to consider and I do. Things work out better that way for me.

I am beyond independent. I have a mind of my own and do not need others telling me what to think or how to live. I am also a crotchety old man so cross me and you get an ear full. Start an open minded discussion and we click and become buddies.

Within reason, I play my life my way...none of us are entirely free to do what we want...we all have responsibilities to others in life. But by and large, I am one of the very lucky ones TODAY...tomorrow may be a very different story, but then again, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet.

I would like to say that I did it my way, but in reality there were always others to consider and others to interfere. Just about everything you do effects others. To do it 100% your way you have to be a total narcissist.

I will say that I reserved the final decisions for myself, but it didn’t always result in the best outcome.

The things we have done in the past, make us what we are today, for good or bad. The important thing is to learn from the past, and take that knowledge into the future.

If you tried to live your life "your way" you'd have to constantly keep going to burger king, because society makes it hard for you to function if you want to do thing or live "your way".
