These last 15 years or so, the longest 'curses' or championship droughts have pretty much ended.

Except for the Cubbies.

Is it their turn?

Bad times are over for:
Boston Red Sox - 1918 - 2004
Chicago White Sox - 1919 - 2005
New England Patriots - 40+ years of existence before winning a Superbowl
NY Rangers - 1940 - 1994
Detroit Redwings - 1955 - 1997

Interestingly enough, a fellow Chicago team, the NHL's Blackhawks, currently own the longest championship drought in their sport. 1961 and counting. Next after that is the Toronto Maple Leafs, 1967 and counting.

For the Cubbies, 1908 was the last time they won the World Series

I think that it will end within the next two years. Despite the relative weakness of the NL Central, the Cubs managed to hold their own against the better teams in the NL, and if they can make it to the Series, anything can happen in 7 games. I think (hope) that the sale of the team next year will bring about better times, and the team itself should stay just as strong or stronger next year. Maybe I'm still drinking too much of the Kool-Aid, but I don't think this curse will make it to 100 years.

The Cubs aren't cursed. They play too many day games at Wrigley Field....that is a definite factor. Plus, you never know what to expect at Wrigley, it's like two different parks. On days with the wind blowing in and blowing out and the temp. matters. The ball will carry more in hotter temps. It's just more extreme at Wrigley.

The person that said "friendly confines" of Wrigley Field was being sarcastic. I'm convinced of that.

Well....if the Red Sox can't win the World Series again this year, I wouldn't mind if the Cubs did it....you put your case very well.

I hope it doesn't end. Even if they do pull away with winning the Central Divison, I can't see them going far afterwards. Despite a two in a row loss: Go Brewers!

There is no curse. It is called having bad teams.
When they don't win this year again it is not a curse, it is the fact that they are barely over .500, and not that good.
