I don't really use IM programs a lot but I think that's happened to everyone.
theres normally a perfectly good reason but it's just human nature to jump to 'that was rude, they must hate me' type conclusion sometimes unfortunatly lol

Yeah ! It's a really 'shocking' experience .
I have had explanations of
"got kicked off"
"Door bell or phone rang"
"SO and so came in "
"Baby screams"
"Cramps"
Feels a little like a slap in the face doesn't it !

That's happened to me because of the connection.
Of course, one time I was talking to someone and they stayed logged in for hours without responding, so I called them and they claimed to have been sleeping. :\

they either got kicked because the messenger was messing up or they signed out not wanting to talk to you anymore.
