trust me...i know all about resistance. i'm so scared of hurting my baby. Even if not now...they have recently alleged that all the vaccines may be the cause of the rise in child cancers and auto immune diseases.

How will I explain to her why I didnt fight hard enough for her?

I heard that if your baby has a reaction u should report it to VAERS.

I commend you for asking BEFORE you decide!

My son had intractable seizures, caused by the mercury in his vaccines. 100 seizures per day, for 4 years. Cured with a triple craniotomy at age 4.5, now is a typical 10 year old boy, with some ADHD. I just followed the rules of modern medicine. In Florida, it's mandatory (unless you seek religious exemption) that your child be immunized if you want your child to attend school. I was just following protocol. Yes, most babies will probably have the ability to process and excrete the toxins, but what if my baby is the 1 in 100 who has a more fragile system, or a slightly more fragile blood/brain barrier? A baby is fragile; if it happens to you, it might as well be a 100% chance... I suppose he was just one little lamb sacrificed for the good of the herd. I'm still pro-vaccines, but I'm appalled that my son's vaccines exceeded the EPA's guidelines for "safe" levels of mercury by more than 70 TIMES!!! Mercury has been eliminated from most pedi-vaccines (except for Hep B and flu), but the pediatric mega-vaccination schedule also raises questions. Is it necessary to overload a baby with so much at 8 weeks, then 4 months, and 6 months? Yes, I was immunized. But not with 36 shots in the first year of my life.

You are an awesome mom for asking. Be prepared to be met with MAJOR resistance on this issue. From your physicians, from your family, and from this message board. I followed protocol, my son's health was jeopardized for FOUR years, and had only the "loving" arms of Big Pharma, the FDA, the CDC, and scoffing physicians to run to. PLEASE UNDERSTAND that if it was proven that there is a vaccine link to these rogue, unexplainable neurological conditions in our kids, there would be litigation IN THE TRILLIONS. It could potentially bankrupt the pharmaceutical industry at the worst, and at the least, it would skyrocket our future costs for meds of any kind. This issue is so much deeper than most people realize. Nothing is proven, and there is too much at stake for people to want to prove it. Tobacco is a powerful lobby, but Big Pharma is like a nuke. It's not a conspiracy to poison kids, but it is negligent after the fact, and they are going to do everything they can to protect their interests.

AGAIN, I'm not against vaccines; they can be miraculous. I'm against vaccine overload on babies. I'm against injecting MERCURY into anyone's child.

Our oldest daughter had a reaction to her last DTP - it was before they changed it to the DTaP. She was 18 mos and had hives covering her body. It's not a typical reaction, but I told the doctor about it and he said if you're sure nothing else was introduced that caused the hives, let's assume it was the vaccine. Well, we hadn't changed anything in her diet or laundry soap or bath soap - there was nothing else it could have been that we could imagine. The reaction happened within 1 hour of having the shot. He said NEVER give her the Pertussis part again - it can cause mental retardation if they have had a reaction to it and it's given again. So - for all of her boosters, even thought the vaccine was changed, we only gave her a DT shot.
My cousin had a reaction when she was 12 mos or younger - she did the high pitched screaming thing. My aunt never gave her another booster for whatever it was they thought caused that reaction.
If you think your child has had a reaction - talk to the doctor, if you don't like the answer (and I had another dr and a nurse tell me, "Oh, it probably wasn't that - go ahead and give it to her - they changed the vaccine anyway" Um... What are the risks if it WAS??? NO!) - trust YOUR gut! Maybe my daughter got into something and I didn't realize it (doubtful) - I wasn't alright taking the chance. If I had given her another pertussus vaccine and she ended up disabled or worse - I would never be able to live with myself.
Hope I could help. Most babies and kids are fine and I do believe in vaccines, but I also believe they may be the cause of Autism, there can be adverse reactions in a few kids and they aren't perfect.
