in most cases the main switch for the cruise control either got turned off accidently or the switch has failed.

the main switch is on the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel. It is a 'push-in" type switch that if you inadvertantly push it in when it is engaged you will turn it off.
the switch should have a green LED on it that illuminates when the ignition key is turned on and the switch is on. there should also be a light on the instrument panel that comes on when the switch is on. if its turned off the cruise won't work.

try to turn the switch on before doing anything else. The chances of the actuator having failed are very remote.

hope that helps

ok all you effin retards that say "take the old motor out and put in a v8 or an american motor" you have no idea about cars.. and should stay off of this set of questions... if you want your 5L getting only 250-300hp you stick with your mustangs(tampons) and your camaros(tampons)... but do not, I repeat DO NOT assume displacement is the better of the 2... cuz we can swap in a 2.2L and get 230-470 hp from and all motor 4 cylinder.. and it be way more efficient, and get better gas mileage, as we come around your tampon in the 1/4... nice try ANYWAY.... I would either drop in a B18c1 (gsr) or go for a b16... or for the gusto slap a K20 in and that accord will MOVE and to clear things up with the kid saying the H series motor is too heavy... yeah good job those 30lbs really makes a differance..... moron how about this... the kids who think they know about cars since ya know they bolted on a catback or an intake ... stay out of a question that requires ACTUAL knowledge of cars, and the swapping of actual motor/ internal parts..... you'll look alot smarter in the long run

Check for a broken diaphragm inside the cruise servo. It's a big thing (about 3" diameter) under the hood - the throttle cable is connected to it.
