Here is something to remember. Everything looks closer on the strip than it actually is. I stayed at the Flamingo one year and thought I would walk to the Excalibur. I figured it would take about ten minutes. Well, 20 minutes later I was still not there. Figure it will take over 30 minutes at least. You have to deal with over the street pedestrian crossovers that take you across the intersections. They are not very direct and can be somewhat confusing at time.
If it is cool, walk on the sun side of the strip and if it is hot, walk on the shade side. Do not wear brand new shoes here. Make sure they are broken in before you walk here. You could get a blister real easily while trying to break in new shoes.

The strip is approximately 4.5 to 5 miles long. The Luxor is located at the top of the strip. A walk to the middle of the strip would be between 2 to 2.5 miles. Expect it to take 20-30 minutes or more (factor in traffic, lights, and congestion- people and cars), depending on where you're going. Wear good walking shoes or sneakers, preferably cross-trainers.

It depends on if you stop along the way. If the lights are all in your favor and you say walk from Luor to Cesars Palice it's goint to take you about 25 minutes at an average walking pace.
A few weeks ago we stopped at The Mirage and walked down to Luxor. The Mirage is towards the bottom of the stip. It took about 45 minutes.
I bet once you get walking there will be lots you will want to check out along the way so It's taken us close to a day before to walk down one side and back up the other. Just try to miss out all the contruction along the way on the side where the Luxor is. Better to cross the road as you walk down. Not so much dirt and dust.
Enjoy your visit

Depends on where in the middle of the strip you want to go to. I was just in Vegas last week and I walked from Treasure Island to the New York, New York hotel and it takes about 20-25 minutes. If you were to walk from Luxor to Treasure Island it is far. Why not try the monorail from the MGM?

Because of the huge hotels or something, the strip is like an optical illusion. Everything looks a lot closer than it really is. I would just hop in a short cab ride...or even buses go up and down the strip constantly....Probably everyone answering here has worn their a s s out waking to that "nearby" hotel..It's a mistake you only make once, but everyone seems to do it once...

It is considerable. It could take you up to an hour. Take the tram. I walked it. It is over two miles in heavy traffic. Pedestrian and cars. None of the others walked it.
It is four miles from Luxor to the Stratosphere.

It is a good walk. But you can stop at each casino if you like. They all have something great to look at!!!! I live here. Go check out Vegas.com & the site will tell you a lot of things about each casino.
