GB stole it? I thought it was the fat cat pension companies and private industry that "stole it". GB and the government arrange to supply the safety net - state pension and unemployment benefit. No Gordon's main failing is not standing up to corporate interests, and "I don't need anybody" simpletons who'd like to pay no tax and keep a big bag of gold and a gun under their bed. However I suppose he can't annoy the city too much - he does want to get re-elected after all.

Yes, but could the country afford it.

Most of it has been squandered on Schools, Hospitals, Immigrants and the like.

I was lucky, I got mine before Tony Blair and the One Eyed Bandit took over.

What kind of a question is that!
I'm sure there'll be tonnes of people saying, "Yes, we don't need it and we're sure he'll find a better use for it, like pumping it into educational initiatives that will fall flat on their face..."
