No, it's one of the worst jobs you could possibly have. But at least you're doing something that I guess you like doing. That's all that matters. Who needs ambition when you're content with what you have? This idea puts value in humility for sure!

I work at a McDonalds right now, and I love it. I started at a small franchise in Feb. 06...it was great to start with...I enjoyed it, and was promoted to team leader. Then, the manager got transferred and the new manager let the store run down. It got pretty bad...it seemed that everything was broken or missing, and we were forever running out of something. The place with a filthy mess...we have to remove the grease from behind the grills with a snow shovel!!!I was a team leader, but doing the job of a swing manager for team leader pay.the crew wouldn't listen, and nothing was done about them.So I quit and started at a new one. The new one is awesome...it's clean, organized, fast, and even the customers are way nicer!!! They're going to promote me to team leader, and I'll be getting more pay for less responsibility than at the other store. I really enjoy my job now and find it fun. I like the fast pace, and the customer interaction. I tried working at a grocery store, but I didn't enjoy it becuase it was too boring. So, I work at McDonalds simply because I like it, and I plan on working there for a few years until I go to college. I hate the steroetype that McDonalds employees are bums who can't get a good job becuase usually not true.

I worked at McDonalds 25 years ago, (my first job) and I loved it. But thru out the years I've learned what it is I love is interacting with different people every day, giving compliments and putting a smile on someone's face, and it makes it even better when I get the same in return. It feels real good to come home from work feeling like you made someone's day, or sometimes they make yours.
I have since had jobs making MUCH more money but not as satisfying. I am a home-mom now, but if I ever get bored I would definately work as a cashier in a busy atmosphere such as McDonalds, grocery store, etc...

If I needed a job and McDonald's was hiring and paying a decent wage, of course I would work there. There is no shame in working in a fast food place. McDonald's has a good reputation and does a lot of good for sick children and their families. They also have a good setup for their employees to help them develop good work habits. Good for you! It is great when you can make your workplace a fun place by having a good attitude, being a team player and working to improve your skills. Don't worry about those who are laughing. You are making an honest living and having a good time doing it. There are plenty who will criticize and then sit around and do nothing to improve their money situation or collect welfare and that is simply wrong. You are doing something to make your life better and are probably making a lot of difference in the work place because of your attitude.

I have been in food service for 20 years and after my son was born I decided to stay home for a couple of years. I now work at a 24 hour Mc donald's working graveyard so my husband can be at home with our son so he doesn't have to go to daycare. I don't know about other 24 hour Mc Donald's, but ours for graveyards pays $9 per hour to start. Mc donald's offers grade bonuses to high school students and they also pay up to $125 for college books, so education is very important to them. We do get some nasty customers. We had someone swearing into our speaker one night and I just told them that it was not acceptable and if they continued to do so they would not be served. You do not HAVE to put up with that kind of behavior....and to the people that are always nasty in the drive-thru....get a life. If you are in a hurry, don't get in line when there are 5 other cars in line!

Working for Macdonald's is not a such a bad idea when you decide to have some extra cash or you would like to learn more about the fast food restaurants. Currently I've been working for Macdonald's for 3 years now and it is the easiest job you can find throughout the USA.

i'm working in McD Singapore as a part time now. I'm been at this job for almost 5 years since I'm 14! I guess it's fun and challenging to work in such a fast-paced environment.
No doubt there are rude and impatient customers, but there'll always be nice and appreciative customers as well! And in this industry, no days are similar. You encounter different customers and situation every single day.
If you are enjoying youreself, stay strong and be proud to be part of McD!

NO, but it's nothing personal against Micky Ds. I worked in a restaurant for 4 years in hs and college. I do not like working with food or in customer service. People are rude and hard to get along with alot of times and I want to love people, I really do. Also, I hate cleaning up food and after others.
Cudos to those who do. Some one has to and I like eating out.=)

NO, I wouldn't work at McDonald's or any other hamburger place. The hamburger places give me nausea. I don't know why I can't explain it. I can eat there, but as soon as the thought of working there enters my mind, my stomach turns. I would definately go back to work to Taco Bell however. I loved it when I did. It was my first job, I was the shift manager, I wore a purple hat and shirt. I used to work the drive thru during lunch, that was my favorite part. I also loved working the LINE (were you make the food) in the hot section because we used to compete with the drive thru line (i was the dine-in line. But yeah, I would work at a fast food place, just not a burger place.

I work at McDonalds right now. It's an ok job, and I like to work with everybody. What's interesting is that my mom worked there several years ago, and what's funny is that the store manager at my store and my mom worked at the same store when she worked for the company.

I would, but not for a permanent job. I hope to be a lawyer or a high position someday, but I would work there to get some money to help pay for things.
I hope you advance in your Md career! Maybe someday you can own your own Mds, if you're lucky!
