Planning a little getaway, just me, for some rest and "me" time. Planning to drive into the Smoky Mtn. region. I'd like to do some light hiking, cycling. sightseeing. I'm somewhat familiar with the region, but I've never driven this great a distance alone, or never taken a vacation by myself. Any words of advice to stay safe during my travels?

Let someone know your plans and when you expect to be back. Arrange for someone to be your contact in case of an emergency.

Yeah. Stay safe. Dont do anything abnormal, be careful what you eat and drink and just try and keep yourself safe.
