I think you can still smoke in your own car (unless you are parked in our local hospital car parks) you are not allowed to smoke in a works vehicle. But yes as stated if you have an accident whilst lighting up you can get done for driving without due care and attention, also if you throw your cigarette out of your window it is classed as littering and that is an £80 fine!!

i don't think of its as risky as some issues that I see or have experienced! Screaming youngsters, loose canines, cellular telephones beverages in cans and drivers who can not seek advice from a passenger devoid of dealing with them or whocontinual one-exceeded with or and not utilising a cigarette! the risky area is lights up the cigarette and putting it out! maximum human beings who smoke can and docontinual with the two palms on the wheel! My hubby has been utilising almost 40 years and is now a coach driving force(not allowed to smoke) and has in no way had an accident because of the fact of smoking! in 20 i haven't the two yet it incredibly is as a results of the fact I hardly smoke while utilising. i think of a ban may well be fairly complicated to enforce yet while i grow to be stopped for it then i might take the punishment I deserved!

its getting to the stage where you will have to sign a disclaimer and that you will pay all bills for treatment due to smoking before you can buy a packet of cigarettes!
This new law will also give insurance companies an excuse to raise premiums for insurance if you smoke and drive and it will give them a way out paying out any claims if they find any signs of cigarettes in the car like the ash tray,or even the smell of smoke in the cars interior,, think about it,you can guarantee this new smoking guideline will be made legal before you know it; this is the first warning message as to what is to come

Political Correctness run a-muck! Out in your car is about the only place you cannot offend others with your smoke? UK really has you under cameria survelence at all times. What is it I hear about not wearing Hats and hoods? I think I just have to fly over from Texas with my cowboy hat and see if they ask a Texan to remove his hat! Protest Become active in politics!
