omnivore,carnivore or herbivore?

Parts of both the physiology and anatomy of our digestive system resemble a carnivore (stomach, large intestine for example) while other parts resemble a herbivore (small intestine). Obviously our evolutionary past included alternating trends in either direction. With traits of both herbivory and carnivory, the correct answer, as others have stated is that we are generally omnivorous.

Also note that cultural practices vary, so that while our digestive system is classed as omnivorous, humans can choose to be entirely carnivorous (Lapland reindeer herders of the north) or entirely herbivorous (Quechuan potato farmers of the Andes).

Homo sapiens are omnivores. We eat both plants and meat. Our digestive system is capable of breaking down food (both from plant and animal sources) into utilizable products necessary for growth and survival.
