The ants in our house are really irritating, they're all over and never a day goes by that I don't get bitten by them!

First find out if they are getting into something. They love sugar so a candy drawer or open containers of sugar or sugary substances keep em coming back.

If they are getting into a certain cupboard or area. Get some ant and roach killer. Get as big a can as you can or two. Spray area known to see ants. Take the rest and spray like a pro does. Spray every inch of floor along walls and outside doorways. Then go outside and on a calm day spray the border of you house and ground.

This will also help with spiders, silverfish, and most other creepy crawlies. For spiders you will want to go around all the basement windows and ceiling that is not finished in a basement.

Ive had this problem and ants were the easiest to get rid of.

Certainly there are few "breeds" in the species that BITE; and without knowing where you are at all, obviously we cannot define the exact breed that exists for you.

Ants of different breeds also have different agendas; especially when it comes to food sources.

You should probably determine how they gain access for one thing. They DO NOT NEST indoors.

Then try to determine the type; and what they are targeting. If it's specifically to bite/eat you; you might want to call in a pro.

Ants are far stronger by comparison; than man; but too they are creatures with senses far more keen; and opportunists when it comes to access and food sources. They are also cannibalistic; actually aiding in the removal of say a dead Roach.

They will smell and seek out ANY food residue/source; even when you think you wiped that kitchen counter clean. They will go after pet foods left out; crumbs in the carpet; etc. OR attack the structure of the house IE: Carpenter Ants.

In Florida; and I'm sure most areas of the World is the "FIRE ANT" who sole purpose we often assume is to attack humans and animals when disturbed. They rarely have need to enter a house; but in the kingdom of the NON human anything is possible.

In Australia you can buy stuff called Ant Rid. The ants eat it take it back to the nest and kills them all. it is in the same section as fly spray in the supermarket
Or if you want chemical free get Bicarb soda and cover their entrance points with it . They dont like to go through it.

They have a powder at Wal-mart. You sprinkle it along off the doorways, and window sills, and anywhere there are crevices or points of entry. You may even want to look into a treatment for your lawn, to zap them before they even reach your home.

My husband and I treated his dads house for fleas and ants, so we also sprinkled all throughout the carpet, let sit for a few hours, then vacuumed. We left the powder by the doors for a few days. Seemed to help a lot!

Got to Wal Mart and buy some Terro ant killer.
This stuff works great; they carry it back to the nest and kill off the colony. You will see more ants the first couple of days and then none.
Don*t kill off those you see, they are the ones carrying the poison back "home".

I use a small piece of moist paper towel where I see them the most. The ants congregate to it, get stuck and you just pick it up and toss it. We have pets so chemicals are out of the question.

Combat ant gel. you can get it at walmart. if you can find where they are coming in, that would make it better but if not just put it where you see them the most. they will take it back and usually they are gone in a day. this stuff works great!!!

take a small container (like lid from baby food jar) put dry grits in it, the ants take it back to their nest and the saliva expands the grits and they "blow up". I think I have heard that boric acid is good too but, I am not sure about that one.
