o/~Is this the real life
Is this just fantasy
Caught in a landslide, no escape from re-al-it-ee
Open your eyes, look up to the skies and seeeeee....eeee
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy --
Because I'm easy come, easy go
Little high, little low
Any way the winds blooooww, doesn't really maaaaaattterrrr...
To meeeeee.
(da da dum da)o/~
I'm sorry, I'm just having a karaoke moment.
Seriously -- that's a pretty big question. My favorite take on the answer is in Robert Anton Wilson & Robert Shea's Illuminatus! trilogy; but you have to read the whole thing. The short version of that particular answer is: yes and no. Everything really exists, *and* it's just you dreaming this life.
o/~ Mama, oooooeeooo... Didn't mean to make you cry... o/~

You have, in an offhand way, asked the oldest unanswerable question; "What is life".
The answer is that none of us really knows. What matters is what each of us does with this existence. If reality is really a dream, then that dream is really reality. And if it's not, it doesn't really matter because nothing changes either way.

Wow! Far out!
I to have given this some thought just as the film Matrix portrays or ancient Greeks believed, are we just a muse for some Omnipotent being. We are all alone in our heads, unless we are schizophrenic.

As the song says, "Life is but a dream." So, dream on. I hope all your dreams are good ones. Lol.

I might also be dreaming answering you here. I slapped my face 3x and it hurts. Thanks I'm alive, I mean I'm not dreaming! Slap your face at least 3x too, if it hurts, everything in you really exist. If it don't, I have to wake up, this just a dream!

While making the long, drudgery filled drive to work, one day, I wondered if by some chance I had been killed in a horrific accident, which was my fault, and this drive would be my eternal hell.
As it turned out, my journey ended, I went to work and had to face the reality that my life was hell.
I've since retired.
Ahhh!

everyone percieves day to day experiences differently. Your reality is your own but it is combined with your contacts perceptions of theirs also. there must be a middle ground here. if you get with someone who agrees with your concept of existentence, then you feel that it is actual. however, there could be a third party saying, "I just don't see it that way" and remember, no one ever said that dreams are not a part of the true reality.
