Okay, I need HONEST answers, so no posting what you think women want to hear, okay?
My friend and I just got into an argument. He told me that 99% of men on earth are only nice to women because they want to sleep with them. I argued with him for about 20 minutes and said that isnt true, he just laughed and called me naive.
So, who is right? Are men ONLY nice to women, when they want to sleep with them?

The reason the argument got started is because he admitted that he views women as objects, then said most men do, and that theyre only ever nice to women for sex.

Mostly....If a guy is attracted to a girl...he's thinking sex. Even if he has good morals and never admits it...he's thinking it.

Well YOU'RE BOTH right and wrong. There are many men who are nice to women only to sleep with them. BUT there are also many men who are nice to women as that is their nature. BUT I don't believe that this 99% figure is right and don't believe it is anywhere near right. I honestly believe it is more like maybe 40% of men are nice to women only to sleep with them. The other 60% are nice as they are good people who are mature and don't need to prove anything and sex is not the only thing on their mind. It is your friend is naive, or should I say IMMATURE.

men will always think about sex but the statement guys are ONLY nice to women for sex is def. not true. Sex is big part of a mans thinking but there's more to that. So i think you're friend is true only to a certain extent cos when he gets past the sex, a womans substance is what counts

There is a percentage of men that are actually nice to women because they want to sleep with them, that is true.
I don't believe though that the percentage is so high as your friend says.
I don't understand the reason for arguing though.
There's nothing wrong with that, besides there are women that are nice to men exactly for the same reason.

I agree with the first poster. Here's my story.
Even though my exboyfriend and I went around "three bases" while we dated, he loved me for me. I know because he respected that I didn't want to round the fourth base and have sex, and after we broke up he tried his hardest to take care of me even though we weren't together. We're still friends, although college has made communication less frequent. :)
While your guy's number is a little high, it's true to a fair degree. But 99% isn't for men who want sex only - it's for men who are clueless and will have problems with women.

99% of the men?! Arrgh! What kind of unfounded survey is that! Maybe, the person concerned is a man-hater. Perhaps, he has had no opportunity, to be in the company of men of character and, hence, his impoverished knowledge about men. He knows very little about men of character. He is recommended to undergo some dependable spiritual training including yoga & meditation from a reputed, dependable institution.

There honestly are some REALLY nice guys in the world. I've very fortunate to have met many of them through other friends, school, & work.

I don't know the percentage, but it seems a lot of guys are like that.
I know there are some decent guys out there, but the bad ones seem to outnumber them.
