Yes, I learned the hard way that serious questions are better posted else where. Doesn't bother me however, I've accepted it as fact of Y/A. I like P&S being random and funny for the most part.

I found that polls and surveys is a nice category for finding questions that do not require much thought. So If you put your "real" question here you are targetting it at the wrong audience.
Like your question about the Viking language. There is a category about linguistics on this site, but not many people go there. You would have been better of posting your question on the history section.
PS: Anything else you want to know about Vikings?

Yep but I don't remember if it was on this ID or the other......but one time I did post a serious question in the category it should've been in and only got dumb useless answers so I re-posted here and actually got some really good ones.P&S should be fun but they can come through for a person once in a while.....I love it here!!!

Sometimes that happens, but I have asked questions about TCs and being targets because it's a problem and got many good answers. I have asked other things I really needed to know and did pretty good.

Real? I guess you mean "serious". Life is so serious. I do this for fun and I think many others do as well. I usually go to the source for answers to serious questions.

I have never understood the purpose of asking the real questions. If you really want to know something, shouldn't you look in Wikipedia, or ask your mother?
