Whatever the reason, this woman is paying a terrible price. Nobody can punish this woman more than she is punishing herself .

My dear friend, life has its own cause and effect laws. Nothing we can ever do will justify the cruel or humane treatment of another. We may think we can simply "Get Away" with whatever we choose to do but in actuality, that is not the case. Do you think OJ Simpson has an ideal life after his acquittal? There is much not meeting the eyes even though he is smiling brightly. His life will be in torment no matter how he thinks he is going to live. The Universe gives just deserves it own way even though we look past that and think we have the right to punish those who are not good in their ways. Many of us cannot look past the obvious to see the bigger picture of things. If both cases we are observing here are rightfully crimes against humanity, they will not escape unscathed no matter how society See's it. Their are Universal Laws that will not allow such things unscathed. We are just to primitive to see that yet. I'm not saying either case is a guilty or not guilty, we don't know and probably never will but trust me, nothing goes unnoticed in the world beyond our normal seeing. Ive seen it first hand!

What, exactly? I didn't kidnap Maddy. I didn't insult her parents. I have done nothing whatsoever to the people involved. So, why would any of this be on MY conscience?
Unless you're asking if I would like to find myself in their shoes, to which, I'd answer no, of course I wouldn't.

That said, from what I do know of the case, I've never been to the UK, but here in the USA it's illegal to leave children that young alone. I suppose they may have thought their kids were safe in a resort room, I can understand how maybe they could feel safe like that. But even if it were ok to do, I would NEVER leave my kids alone that young.

True, if one or both parents had been in the room, they might have been abducted or killed. But it's what I would do if they were my kids. Or hire a babysitter. Or bring them along to dinner. It's what billions of parents across the world do every day.

I do not believe in any way, as some others claim, that the McCanns are doing this for publicity or to extend their holiday. The mere notion of that is sickening. And those people who are on the 'chans' making fun of the parents, and talking of 'pedobear', need to grow up. Is this the future of the world? People lose their daughter and some 'netjocks take a dump on the family? Just shows, these days with PC technology the way it is, even a drooling gimp can get net access.

Too many people being Judge, Jury, and
Executioner.
Too many speculations, this must have happened, that must have happened.
All I know for a fact is they left their children
alone and Maddie went missing. I could not have done that, and I do not condone it. But it does not give me the right to persecute them.
Yes freedom of speech is a wonderful thing,
but when it turns into something vicious it is
not to be applauded, or made fun of.
Let the due process of the law go and find the
the truth. Let them say guilty or not guilty.

Snook, many thanks for your question; I really would despair if nobody asked such questions

I believe there are people in Yahoo Answers who actually want this to happen, they are that cruel. Nobody posts the same questions 2000 times without having a fanatical lust for cruelty.

They will offer excuse after excuse for the cruelty against the tragic McCanns but they are the hyenas of civilised society,
no less because they are able to kid themselves that they do it "for Maddy". Perhaps they can kid themselves that their motives are justified but they waste time trying it on me.

About this case you are right to call not punish somebody like that, but you got the person wrong IT'S MADELEINE who shouldn't be punished like that just because they are useless parents and shouldn't have children in the first place like mother nature did decide for some reason.
If this parents going trough this is being punished then they are masochists because they've provoked the situation, and if you want to feel something more about CONSCIENCE try to put yourself inside MADELEINE'S mind back to that night.

Edit:
Caesar's wife this is not spite it's concern about innocent and unprotected children.
Retox got it right and if you are naive enough to forget about neglecting and be worried about parents that provoked their daughter's death instead of the child you have a very sick serious problem!

"Close friends revealed..."

or in other words.

Clarence leaks more sympathy-propaganda instead of getting on with "the supposed search."

I am truly sick and tired of them turning this circus in to a McCann pity party under the increasingly thin guise of looking for their daughter.

Where's "the refocussed search"???

When the McCanns dined that night, they presumably discussed the "care" of their children. For whatever reason they wilfully chose to leave their three children alone. They wilfully chose to decline the services of a FREE babysitter. They then went out and dined with their friends, enjoying their holiday.

Because they were not caring for their babies, one of them went missing and the McCanns were not there to protect them. That is the hard reality of it I am afraid. There were no "mistakes" made - Gerry and Kate knew exactly what they were doing but thought they would get away with it. Sadly for Maddie, they thought wrong. Yes, Kate and Gerry will have to pay for their irresponsibility for the rest of their days but Maddie has paid with her life.

I am not one to call the McCanns names as some do, but I do not feel as though I am responsible for Kates state of health/mind as I believe the PJs account of that night, and believe they will uncover a body in time.

I'm not sure I understand - do you mean that child's photograph shouldn't have been reported, or do you mean if you were the person who reported it, that you would feel responsible for Kate McCann's state of mind?

I would be battling more with my conscience if I hadn'd bothered to avail of FREE babysitting for my three small children under four in order to go out for dinner and a pub quiz, but hey, that's just me....

And what do you imagine the 4 year old girl left in an unlocked foreign apartment is going through?

I'm sorry, but my sympathies lie unreservedly with the child.

Kate McCann may be going through hell but she is not the victim in this crime.

If she was your babysitter and had done that to your children would you really care about her welfare or would you be concerned for your child.

If you want to stand up for somebody's rights do it for the voiceless not for those that are old enough to protect and look after themselves.

The police made them suspects, not the public. If they didn't want people questioning the lack of care they afforded what should have been the most precious person in their world then they should have done their job. Do you think they left their money, passports and mobile phones in that unlocked apartment that night?

The welfare of children is the concern of the whole community - when they are not looked after properly dreadful things happen.
