She was human.....not deity. He could have picked any woman...........and she would still be a woman. The only intercessor women or men have to Jesus is the Holy Spirit. Look it up in the Bible. If you would learn to study the scriptures for yourself you would be able to detect the lies from the truth. Get into the Word for Pete's sake and grow in the knowledge of the Lord. Seeing Mary as anything but a normal woman who was chosen for a supernatural birthing would be idolatry. Mary is respected by all, but should never be attributed with anything but normal human abilities. You cannot pray to a human and expect anything.......God is the only true God and the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us. God said so. Do you call Him a lier? Do you push Him aside to worship a human? This, my friend, will bring judgement down on you sooner or later. Read the Word and learn Truth. You cannot find anywhere in the Bible that Mary was anything other than a human chosen by God to bear His Son in human form. You cannot find anywhere in the Bible that we are to pray to Mary.....or any other human. You cannot find in the Bible anytime that Jesus prayed to His mother. Why then, would you place her as deity in your heart. It is idolatry.

Mary was a average human being that was a believer in the gospel .God could have pick any other woman who was a believer . She was some one that God could trust with his only son . Mary was not perfect ,not sinless ( luke 1:47 ), and is in heaven serving her Lord .. Jesus is our mediator for us to God in prayer .

In the Gospel of John, Jesus clearly tells his mother to shut up when he's making the vine. He also get pi$$ed when a tree doesn't blossom because his magic didn't work. He's also shaming people in his speeches, cleearly Jesus was everything you cannot accept from the real Messiah (may he come speedily). Amen.

Boy, your way off. Jesus Christ Himself is our intermediary. Mary was just a vessel that God found favor in because she was a virgin. Praying to anyone or anything other than God, or Christ is wrong.

"And a great portent appeared in Heaven-a woman clothed with the Sun,with the Moon under her feet and on her head a crown of 12 Stars."
By the way ,Mary is NOT dead. She is very much alive.
Mary's mothers name was "Anna".Already in the beginning God had elected Mary to her unique vocation in the scheme of salvation. It is the obscure people whom God chooses for his work.Among them a special place belongs to Mary.We are not wrong in believing that ages ago before she was conceived in the womb of Anna,Mary was anthologically conceived and sanctified for the divine purpose.Mary was from the beginning "endowed with grace",or in the more familiar translation "full of grace"To be filled with grace is to be in the opposite condition from that of original sin.
EDIT..Fatima 1916..Mary says "How long have i suffered for you,if my Son is not to cast you off,i am obliged to entreat Him without ceasing"
She always spoke in the native language.Knew what the visionaries were doing or had done in minute detail.
"God is displeased with what has been going on in this Earth, his patience is nearly exhausted.
Our Lord is displeased and that people of all races must mend their ways Pray-pray and pray from the heart.Do penance for our sins meditate, fast, read sacred Scriptures, live the Holy Mass, always thank God,confess, fast from the heart giving gratitude to God,pray the Rosary, pray the Holy Spirit will come down pouring on your family. When God comes ,he will not be joking"!
SO MARY WAS JUST A VESSEL ,HUH ?
EDIT....As usual other posters have got it wrong. Why don't you do research before answering? I thought non Christians needed prayers for their conversion. Now i have to waste time praying for Christians that need conversion, and we are running out of time.
EDIT....To the Questioner ...Mary is not dead ,she is the Queen of Heaven. She has been visiting people over the last 1000 years and is still appearing .Mary has appeared in Walsingham U.K.,Lourdes,Beauraing, Knock,La Salette,Fatima,Garabandal,Banneux,Guadalupe, Fain-Les-Moutiers Paris,Rome,Cairo, and is currently appealing to the people of the World at Medjugorje,Syrria,Australia,Japan,Venezuela,Korea,Philippines,Greece,Africa,North America,South America,India.
A bit hard to do if you are dead, wouldn't you say ?
EDIT...Joyful Noise, which Bible from the over 50 different versions in English alone, do you depend on ?
andrew.....you should not say things about Mary that are completly false. You are offending God as well as Mary.
helen.....Mary was conceived WITHOUT ORIGINAL SIN.
you are offending God.
odds 10 to 1......BOY ARE YOU WAY OFF ! do some research about Mary, How do you people come up with these ridiculous and insulting answers ? And you call yourselves Christians.
Fireball 226... You are much more than slightly confused. You are totally confused. Why am i not surprised ?
MARY IS THE MOTHER OF GOD.MARY IS QUEEN OF HEAVEN .GOD EXALTED HER ABOVE THE ANGELS.

Mary was just the vessel. Parents guide and show the way and then let go.It does not say anywhere that I should pray to Mary for any sort of salvation. Jesus died for all of us, sinners, Mary included.Jesus was the miracle not Mary.

You may do as you wish. Honoring the dead is irrelevant though because death is not what you think it is. We simply leave the body and go on. Life begins with death. You are correct in your first statement.
