Usually not. According to HowStuffWorks, this is how the pill works: "Although scientists aren't completely sure how it works, they believe that levonorgestrel prevents pregnancy either by stopping the ovulation process or by disrupting the ability of sperm and egg to meet in the Fallopian tubes. Some speculate that the drug may prevent the fertilized egg from implanting as well, perhaps by making the uterine lining less receptive to the egg."
So I think it usually actually stops fertilisation. If it stops a fertilised egg implanting then you could claim it was abortion, if you were really interested in two or four cells (really).

No. 3 days is required for pregnancy to establish itself. The fertilized feotus takes 3 days to travel into the womb and attach itself to the womb wall.
Sometimes that happens, and sometimes it doesn't attach itself, it just goes forth as a normal period. That's what a period is, an agg, but could be a fertilized one if the woman has had sex but the egg didn't attach. If the egg aborts after it's attached that's a miscarriage.
The morning after pill must be taken within 3 days of intercourse to be effective, so making sure the egg(be it fertilized or not) comes through as period, instead of attaching itself and developing.
Only after attaching to the womb does the egg begin to develop. Attachment is necessary for growth to begin. Before attachment, it is an egg (a period) and no more.

Not a sin.
One way to rationalise it , is to use the Biblical verses that say ‘ Life is in the blood ‘ . Blood is made in the foetus on the 9th day. Therefor prior to the 9th day there is nothing alive to kill.
Personally I think it is a sin to be a Christian , this is the year 2007 and not 1507 . It’s time to move on.

As always prevention is better than cure. The Morning After is no nice easy "quick fix".
Having said that it depends on what/when one considers a pregnancy to have started. The morning after pill prevents the gamead from implanting on the womb's wall.

Oh of course, naturally, even though it hasn't even begun to 'form' anything God would have already lined up and picked the soul of your child the moment you had sexual intercourse. God's very busy like that.
Er, no. On that logic male masturbation is also abortion. Which wouldn't surprise me the slightest if someone believes that.

Sure, but I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. If there actually IS a god, then he's the biggest abortionist of all, as fully one-third of all pregnancies ends in miscarriage. What is miscarriage except an abortion by god?

Life begins at the moment of conception. Any deliberate termination is murder and a mortal sin .God does not tolerate abortions under any circumstances.

No, you would be aborting a zygote or a blastocyst. Not committing. Semantics are important here.

Abortion is the expulsion of the foetus before it is ready for independant life, as no foetus is yet formed it is not an abortion, this is only my opinion, so it is debatable, and I respect other views.
