I see so many people accusing the PJ of all sorts of horrible things. Apparently searching for Madeleine is a bad thing now according to 1 or 2. If your child was missing wouldnt you be happy if the entire world was searched and every possible sighting investigated? I guess it is ok to make accusations against the police who are actually looking for Madeleine and her perpetraitor but not ok to accuse the McCanns. Seems a bit hypocritical to me doesnt it.

I guess faith you could say people are turned off by the McCanns because of misquotes, leaks and dna evidence.

As well as witnesses backtracking 3 or 4 mos later about what they saw that night.

SELF INDULGENT? This has nothing do with myself mad cheri. This is just a point that any speculation is wrong. And nobody should be accused of anything without solid proof. You just don't like me because I think being a parent is work and you don't.

It does seem that people are more than happy to beleive the bad things they read about the PJ and not about the suspects - people in the UK have a bit of an attitude about foreign countries and their ability to do anything properly and that definately seems to be coming through, if it had happened in France, or Spain I think it would be exactly the same. It appears that all these places are okay to go to on holiday but we wouldn't expect them to be able to carry out an investigation in to a missing child. Sad isn't it really, and more of a reflection on our nation than theirs.

I'm not sure they have backtracked over any DNA evidence, I think the papers have sensationalised everything on both sides and I don't see why if people are willing to beleive in the complete innocence of the main suspects they shouldn't be equally willing to beleive in the competence of the police force.

This whole case has involved, so far, nothing but English people and I imagine the PJ are thinking that if we looked after our children to begin with they could have saved themselves an awful lot of work.

Imagine the outcry in this country if it had been a portugeuse family coming over here, leaving their toddlers home alone whilst they went out drinking and then the Portugeuse press hitting out at our police force for not finding their child - then to top it all the parents becoming suspects and their friends giving conflicting accounts of what happened that night and still the Portugeuse press calling our police force incompetent and stupid. Can just imagine it!

I think this case has ruined relations between Britain and Portugal for a very long time.

Exactly and they forget that they are backed up with 2 other "serious institutions" the Scotland Yard and FSS, how would they feel knowing that the people from my country are a bit sad that the PJ is paying more attention, effort, time, officers and Portuguese Tax money with Madeleine (still good try to find somebody with extra effort) than with the missing children from Portugal (not that many but...) who should have more and better clues, and the British people not giving the right value for those actions, why should they?
Because they are professionals and they believe they are close to something so we have to trust them (PJ, Scotland Yard and FSS) because we know nothing and they are the professionals.
Have a star.

Edit:
Faith do you work with the FSS to know that the DNA reports are false? -If you do could you please provide the source, thanks in advance.

arrogance within the uk public towards anything abroad is a sickness.the PJ are doing the best they can,and how many times in the past have the uk police made serious errors.the truth will out and the mcaan2 will be lucky to be practicing their stiching on mailbags.

Hey there Ladybugs!!!
i don't think anyone's accusing the PJ for searching for Madeleine...

Some people are turned off by them for the information leaks, the misquotes & the false DNA reports that they divulged & then backtracked on...

xx
