Okay If my DSLAM is ADSL2+ (or my line card) and my modem is ADSL2+ (2wire 2700HG-B) then is there any reason why my connection is only showing this...
DSL Line (Wire Pair): Line 1 (inner pair)
Protocol: G.DMT Annex A
DSL Channel: Interleaved
DSLAM: Country: {0xB5} Vendor: {TSTC} Specific: {0x7004}
ATM PVC Info: 0/35
ATM Encapsulation: LLC

The reason i say it's suppose to be an ADSL2+ profile is because that is what my ISP offers, a 7 meg ADSL2+ connection stating that profile is not available on their ADSL packages.. I am quite aware that standard ADSL will work up to 8megs down and 1 meg up. But it's Claimed to me I am suppose to have an ADSL2+ connection witch travels 2000 feet beyond the point of regular ADSL but yet nothing on my end shows ADSL2+ you would think if I have a good line quality and an extra 2000 foot range from the ISP that I should sync using ADSL2+ not G.DMT shouldn't I? or are you saying so long as the profile is within the ADSL limits that's all I will Sync is G.DMT ?
Thank you..

And my speeds are fine, i get over 700/down and near 100/up so i do use my full speeds it's just stated by my ISP this profile only exists on their ADSL2+ packages as their ADSL packages only goto 6 megs altho ADSL will goto 8 megs.

Known ADSL G.DMT downstream profiles that I am aware on my ISP.

128, 288, 512, 640, 1184, 1728, 2496, 3008, 3488, 4032, 5056, 6016, 8000

Notice my Profile is not in there? That is why I am asking. If I have a 7296 profile on G.DMT then my ISP owes an explanation to THOUSANDS of people.

But anyways, My question still remains.
If I have an ADSL2+ profile at the HQ and an ADSL2+ card @ the DSLAM and an ADSL2+ modem then why would I connect via G.DMT.
If I get what you'r saying it's because the ITU of ADSL will handle that speed therefore downgrades itself to G.DMT instead of ADSL2+ witch makes me wonder if I go for a 16meg line as offered by my ISP will I get it since this supposed 7 meg ADSL2+ profile witch i am suppose to be on only sync's @ G.DMT ..

All depends on the speed that is needed to deliver your subscription. Like in your other question. A whole lot depends on the "wire length" from the DSLAM.

G.992.1 (or G.DMT) is still good to up to 8Mbs per the ITU standards! So although it is not ADSL2+ which can go to 24Mbs (within 5000ft) if all is good with ADSL it can deliver your 7296/1088. Not sure why the speeds you state would only be on ADSL2+ because you can get that with ADSL.

If you ARE not getting the speed then you need to contact the carrier. Remember that most of these carriers on say you can get UP TO that speed, not that you will have that speed!

Ok, I guess my confusion would be, as long as you are getting the speeds you are paying for, who cares what the hardware actually reads out? I do understand your wanting to see it as ADSL2+ but if you get the Stated Service Speed how big of an issue is that?
