I grew up a military brat with my dad in the army for 20 years and my brother's a captain in the army now as well. So I'm pretty familiary with the army. I'm about to join the guard, and I know it's only the guard, but everyone's been saying I should do it with the airforce just b/c it's easier, and they take better care of you..etc etc.. But I really wouldn't know. The army doesn't seem that bad either. But it's hard to decided w/out knowing too much about the airforce.

The Air Force is easier in that most have technical jobs. The Air Force does have a better standard of living than all of the other branches. You will wait longer for promotions in the Air Force, but you will be happier with your surroundings. It's all up to you.

Air National Guard. With Air Force in the current situation, you'd probably be more logistical in your prospective duties.

Way I see it, your dad was in the Army, your brother is in the Army. Try a different branch. Maybe it could give a broader perspective on the military experience for you.

Join the Air Force because it is the most glamorous branch of service.
