That's not the way it goes Andy... They, the goofy thinking god-believers, say that they are in touch with Gods and that Gods have revealed themselves to them and that they have faith.... It's all nonsense.
The believers are only fooling themselves by making desperate attempts to cling to what they would like the truth to be; but, true is true, isn't it? What they would like just isn't so.
Backsliding and doubt continue to plague the faithful for the very good and quite simple reason that what they would like is not what they actually have. The real truth of reality is so overwhelmingly obvious that it takes extreme measures of denial in order to shut it out and avoid the truth. Weekly church meetings, daily prayer, trinkets and idols and bible study groups and most of all the strict avoidance of honest self-inspection are all necessary to keep up self delusions and maintain the appearance of a belief in God. Faith is merely another word for hope - it is without foundation and it is in continuous need of restoration for that reason.
You didn't get skipped-over by God; it was the absence of God that caused the difference between you and a theist.
(But you already knew all that, didn't you. ... LOL)

Yeah, he can be an a$$h0I3 alright.
I do not believe in the God found in the bible or any other "holy" texts. I especially don't worship a being who burns people alive forever. That's mean.
I sense and feel an energy in the universe. I can see how all things are connected. I believe there are things out there that lie beyong the realm of science.
I provide my personal God with positive attributes I feel a perfect God should/would does posses. In my mind, I think if there is a perfect God he would be this. Some examples are:
Loves all people without bias.
Wants the best for all people.
Will show everyone how to either become part of him or like him.
Stuff like that. I suggest meditating on what you believe a perfect being would be. Discribe this being with attributes you see. See if you can immulate or magnify these attributes in yourself.
Good Luck!!!
PS If I am wrong I'll see you in hell. I'll be the one mad and cursing God for being so sadistic.

"Why there are rejections of god, and that god is not injured.
Nor need the fact that rejections of god have taken place in certain parts of the earth and will often take place hereafter, disturb the mind of the wise: both because these things do not affect the Gods, just as we saw that worship did not benefit them; and because the soul, being of middle essence, cannot be always right; and because the whole world cannot enjoy the providence of the Gods equally, but some parts may partake of it eternally, some at certain times, some in the primal manner, some in the secondary. Just as the head enjoys all the senses, but the rest of the body only one.
For this reason, it seems, those who ordained festivals ordained also forbidden days, in which some temples lay idle, some were shut, some had their adornments removed, in expiation of the weakness of our nature.
It is not unlikely, too, that the rejection of god is a kind of punishment: we may well believe that those who knew the Gods and neglected them in one life may in another life be deprived of the knowledge of them altogether. Also those who have worshipped their own kings as gods have deserved as their punishment to lose all knowledge of god."
Sallustuis: On the Gods and the World XVIII "

You have the choice or you were given the choice, even here ,but you choose to ignore it. Just enjoy yourself as an Atheist and forget about us being bless or just a bunch of fools that believe in a story book.
You could have pray in Faith to try it out. Test what they say and find out instead of wondering. Most of us were atheist before we were make known of the Holy Kingdom. Some at their death bed and others were born into the family of the truth but all were once in the darkness.
If you are of God then you will indeed search God. The Children of darkness does the thing pertaining to the World. If indeed you are of the darkness then you will die in darkness. But since you choose not to be involved in either, it does not mean you will not be subjected to Hell.
It is not our God that puts you there but the God of this world. Don't thank our God but thank the other God, if you belong to Him.
We don't have Chicken or allow Chicken to be in Heaven. Only those brave enough to try Faith.

I don't believe God made you that way. YOU made YOU that way. Why do you worry you will "burn"? You don't believe in those things right? Nobody forces you or anybody to choose whether to believe or not. But some of us do, can you change that? I don't think so, so why try? You yourself gave up on wanting to believe and so now you don't, did anyone influence you or told you directly that you shouldn't believe in God? It's in your own eyes that you saw there was no point in believing. We all have our own way of reasoning and outlook in life, can't change that.

The answer lies in your words, "I wanted to believe". To believe means to "hold as true". If I hope to find God, then I have to "hold as true" that God exists.
Did you have hope of God's existence? Why? Do you no longer hope for God's existence? What has changed?
When we first hear of God, we are simultaneously attracted and repulsed. Here is the One who created me and therefore must know me and still loves me - that is the attraction. Here is the One who is always watching me and judging my actions -that is the repulsion. We can't have God's love without His authority over us so we have to choose. After we choose, we build a web of "evidence" that supports our choice (which was not based on evidence at all).

First of all , the very fact that you're alive and asking this question proves that God has chosen you (and not only that) he also has a great plan for you.
Isaiah 40:27-31 why do you say, o jacob , and complain o Israel" my way is hidden from the lord; my cause is disregarded by my God"? do you not know ? have you not heard ? the lord is the everlasting God , the creator of heaven and earth. he will not grow tired or weary, and his understandind no one can fathom.
31- those who hope in the lord will renew their strength . they will soar on wings like eagles: they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

That's backwards.
If you're an atheist its the braincells and mental health that chose you and not them.
I know what you mean though, intelligent people find it harder to simply believe what would be nice to be true (kindly uncle looking down on you wishing you well etc) but wishing won't make it so.
Religious people simply don't understand that what they want to be true is different from what is true - its very telling how some creationists say 'even if I was related to apes, I wouldnt admit it!'

god never neters any ones life he is there in each ones already. i like athiests as the are logical people and have brains enough to discover there is no god that this world teaches, but athiests should keep searching science and will realise there is a god indeed like i changed from an athiest to a believer in god through science and relentless constant questioning, people ion general will not be able to answer you as they dont even know abc of their own scriptures but only speak what they have been taught to them by their parents and in church or any place of worship. science is the key to seeing the unseen invisible god high above our worldly thinking.

Get real. God DID choose you. However, He created us all to CHOOSE to worship Him. He didn't create robots. He created us to make a choice and we all have chosen the path that leads to Hell because we have violated His laws. He is perfect and cannot be around sin. That's why we can't be with Him. So, He came down Himself and paid the fine to satisfy justice and punish sin without punishing the sinner. If you choose not to accept that fine paid on your behalf, that is your decision. I truly hope that you would change your mind, though. The decision must be made now.
