Where was all the "LOVE" ??????

from the time of Jesus until 1970..........

1,970 years of HATE for their fellow Christians who were black ?

No wonder they had so much hate for NON Christians.

Christians killed Millions of Jews and were racist against blacks for nearly 2,000 years.

Can you call them Christians who will enter Heaven ?

If not, then how is being saved any different then not being saved.

It wasn't just Christians. It was most Americans, atheist included, all over the place. What did Jesus do in a similar situation? Well, I doubt that you read the Bible very much bet there is an account where a lady went to a well to get some water. She was a "lady of the evening" female, of a different belief than Jesus. Women were thought of as less than men, "ladies of the evening" were shunned big time, a person of one faith didn't hang out with those of a different faith. Jesus talked to her at the well, shared with her, give her "water" and forgave her. That is how Jesus handled that sort of a problem. A Christian should do the same. Everybody makes mistakes and if Christians did as you convey, they made a mistake and need to follow Jesus example. But remember, it wasn't just Christians that did as you describe. I'm pretty sure that your kind did it too. PS when and where did Christians kill millions of Jews? Do atheists never kill??

Everyone can claim they are Christian, including you. Whether it is for the Holy Kingdom or for personal motive or politics. It is the same today of denomination. All claim that they pray, worship or follow the correct way as according to their understanding. So which one you are referring to? Are you confused? You must understand what you are asking. You cannot generalize. It will only hurt the innocent, just like many Muslim being affected because of others that have extreme view or beliefs.

Look at the Christian that walks in the truth. See their work. The fruits of the person tells whether He is a Christian or not. The Anglican Church in America can have Bishop that are Homo and yet they claim that theirs is right. A Church that have it's followers committing suicide in mass claims theirs is right.

Your views seems also to be right, or is it?

Princess Temptress: Your the pot and potty is the kettle. You didn't adress the question either.

I would say that anyone who treated another poorly because of their skin tone would show evidence that they did not have Christ in them. Their actions showed what was in their hearts. If Jesus was in there, they wouldn't have done the things that they did. Now, with that being said, not every white in that era was racist and not every one that claimed to be was really racist at heart. There are too many possible variations to bring up in this forum to encompass everyone that called themself a Christian at that time and figure out if they truly believed in Him or not. We do not go to Heaven because of anything that we did and that salvation does not get taken away because of anything that we could do. Again, our actions will show what we really believe. Just calling yourself a Christian doesn't make you one.

“That mankind are all formed by the same Almighty Being, alike objects of his care, and equally designed for the enjoyment of happiness, the Christian religion teaches us to believe, and the political creed of Americans fully coincides with the position.”
- A condemnation of slavery, the last public act of Benjamin Franklin

Francis Le Jau found favor in ministry to the blacks. Most people did not want the blacks to know about Christianity though because if they did, then they would know that their allegedly Christian masters were obliged to free them.

Alonso de Sandoval, a member of the Society of Jesus, wrote from America against the slave trade. Pedro Claver, a Jesuit, ministered to the blacks. In 1789 the Spanish king decreed that slave masters must instruct them in the Christian faith and allow the slave to rest on feast days. Food, clothing and medical treatment were all required.

Samuel Sewall declared in “The Selling of Joseph” that, “all men, as they are sons of Adam… have equal right unto liberty”

The Reverend Anthony Gavin wrote in 1738:

It gives me much uneasiness to see the greatest part of our brethren taken up in farming and buying slaves, which in my humble opinion is unlawful for any Christian and particularly for clergymen.

Anthony Benezet, or Antoine Benezet (1713-1784) was an American educator and early abolitionist. He came from a French family and proved to be a Quaker, and convinced his brethren that slave-holding was not consistent with Christianity. He taught slave children and set up a school in Philadelphia for the black children. In 1775 he founded the first abolitionist society, and in 1787 Benjamin Franklin became its president.

The Civil Rights Act 1957 is still unoperative in America due to racial nature of white christians.

The righteousness of Jesus is only found in Matthew 5:1-48 but in fact it was nailed on the cross by Peter and Paul, the self appointed disciple dreaming to sit on the 12th chair!

Religion is a secondary thing in Judeo-Christian culture in America. Zionists are taking advantage of this situation and promoting atheism to get more room in the society.

Their racial nature changes only when they are weak!

Some participents are trying to blame Islam for slavery but they are denying the historical facts!

Islam preaches universal brotherhood and equality of humanity. Islam is against racial discreminations and the slavery sice its advent.

Are they Christians???? Are you sure??? What does it mean to be a follower of Christ???

Well, in order to be a true follower of Christ one must follow ALL of his teachings (not pick and choose which ones they like and don't like).

I can only speak for myself. The others speak for themselves.

Correct yourself, my friend. I am a true Christian. And I do not hate. I do not carry the burden of hate in my heart. If I did that then I myself would be a slave to hate. I have not killed anyone and I do not intend to. I pray for all people of the world. The world is in need of prayer, compassion and love.

“You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get in that? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” – Matthew 5:38-48

And God will bless you for it.

Only God will decide who will enter Heaven and who will not. I know I am destined for Heaven because I follow my Lord and savior. I am always in need of and seek His counsel and guidance. There is a guide book as to how to get into Heaven, it is called the Holy Bible.

Think of it like this, the coach gets the whole membership of a university together to determine which of them are potential athletes and after much deliberation finds only 2% are deemed worthy, this is like Christianity in a sense and when you apply the same yardstick that Christ Himself applied you then find a small percentage actually practice what they preach and the rest use the name Christian as a convenence label.

You are conflating the American experience (and only in certain PARTS of America, at that!!!) of some 250-300 years' duration with the totality of Church history (2000 years).

In actuality for the first 300 or so years of Church History, almost all the great minds of Christendom were Africans!

Although it is true that some who claimed to be Christians did indeed despise their Black Brothers, you look very ignorant if you try to tar all Christians with THAT brush.

Get a grip, and GO LEARN.

There is truth in what you say. The outstanding characteristic of a Christan should be his or her love for others. A love not in word only but in deed!

god bless

I don't think we knew any better. I don't think we hated them. We were just taught that they weren't like us. Also, there were alot of good Christian slave owners. We just didn't know. OK?
