I'm looking for inspiration to work on mine. Your emotion behind it will help...Well, by writing this it helps too. I promise I will paint tonight.

I have a large cartoon I have to complete for a 4'x4' canvas, a drawing on a 16"x20" and if I get to paint tonight, it will be a miracle. I'm hoping to start painting tomorrow, or at least do one of my small daily paintings that I enjoy.

No painting going on here.
But today I was at a festival selling raffle tickets for a Log Cabin Quilt that I helped a group of ladies at church make. We use the raffle money for wider missions.
The quilt is made in browns and whites.
We do this every year, one quilt.
I miss the gals when we get the quilt done, it only takes about 4 or 5 months to make. We do see each other but when we are sitting around the quilt doing the sewing by hand we are talking about our lives and what is going on. Giving each other advice, listening to problems. Caring.

Hi,
Tonight I'm going to a meeting about saving the dwindling population of red squirrels in this area. I have mixed feelings about this.
Red and grey squirrels rarely co-exist in the same area indefinitely. This is not due to direct aggression by greys, yet red squirrels usually become extinct when the grey squirrel arrives. But if saving the red squirrel means killing the grey, I'm not sure I can support this campaign. Maybe there will be another way, which I will find out tonight.
Anyway, thinking of animals, what animal spirit is with you tonight? How does this reflect your feelings. Maybe that's what you could paint?

Well, the past few days, I've been thinking about getting a ride to my church on friday night (they have something every friday night, and sometimes it's singing songs and prayer...I love those moments because it's dark and you can think with yourself yet not be alone) but I've just been finding it hard to go back (I still go on sundays, but i feel more connections on fridays)....I guess my emotion is the strong turning lost as they walk from the light, and the lost wanders the depths of the world and the light shines and shadows are cast

I'm also feeling blank- a white page. but since you can't really paint it...I guess any picture that presents simplicity in lost thought

I'm working in on brushing out questions because I can't never get to level 5 one of my contact started less than 3 months already reach level 5 that's when I know I will have unlimited questions since I like to ask so much.I just have to keep answering and ask some questions ones in a while so I won't be bored but I'm not going to ask lots of questions and don't answer as much because that way will going back ward instead of moving up to the next level.

I am painting from memory a scene I witnessed in Argentina a few years back, out in the wilds just past Igauzu Falls. There was a sun-dappled clearing in the rain forest, with a small bubblig stream, and a beautiful jaguar sat there drinking the water as if he (or she) was the only creature for a thousand miles.

Something's terribly wrong here. An artist and that too a philosopher is asking the hoi polloi for inspiration??? Whatever happened to the muse who never fails to inspire myriad emotions in one???

Spiraling emotions, wisps of colored mists in the darkening cosmos spiraling upwards toward a point of light that symbolizes many things. As many things as there are souls spiraling. Some, sadly never make it to the point of bliss. They fade or explode in the attempt. Glowing salmon struggling up the impossible cosmic flow of energy that comes from this point. Where am I in this spiral I wonder?

I do mainly portraits, working from old photographs. Native Americans mostly. I'm finishing one of John Wayne but I'm not real happy with it - will probably do it over.
Just find a subject you really like and paint that. Don't try to please anybody else. Boris Vallejo said it best "Its better to have only a few good paintings that a lot of mediocre ones."
