I mean so many Christians sing its praises and post here about how these miracles are always happening. Shouldn't miracles be offered as effective treatments in hospitals?

I think this is a wonderful idea. If folk believe this BS then let them pray for a miracle instead of wasting the tax payers' hard earned. Hell, why even bother going to hospital to pray when they can do it from their own death bed?

I think we should advocate this approach. You sir I would vote for, should you stand at the next election.

Because there is no evidence that it works.

In comparison, science has provided us with some tried and tested treatments for which there is evidence. Prayer would mean giving up trying to help.

All religion-bashing aside, you can pray at home. Why go to a hospital to practise prayer in the first place?

because it isnt recognised by any health authority as a healing method.
the costs cannot be justified as any imporvment in patients health cannot be measured as its unprovable .
an area that freinds and family of the same convictions should try to fill for any patient requesting prayer as a form of medication.

Well if it worked, there'd be nothing but churches and no need for doctors, but I guess we aren't praying hard enough so it's back to the doc's for my next prescription.

Mind you if the pain gets really bad I could always kill myself and go straight to heaven.

What do you mean it's forbidden!! Who thought that up? That's really mean.

Because hospitals deal in medicine - churches deal in prayer.

It would be a true test of somebody's faith. At the end of the day, though, I suspect only the most devout would be willing to take the chance.

God uses doctors to heal people. Don't you feel as if modern medicine IS in itself a miracle?
Prayer and medicine together are indeed wonderful, don't you think?

If your god didn't want you to go to hospital and get treatments then he wouldn't have made you sick in the first place, surely thats some form of punishment if you believe god heals you when you pray, so he makes you sick to force you to do so?

Bit egotistical of your god isn't it.

Since the days of Adam and Eve, we are all imperfect.
And even in Jesus' day, one of his apostles, Luke, was a physician.
So being imperfect in body, even Jesus realised we need doctors.
