I've had two. One where they were bitten off, the other cut off. Both the right hand and I am ambidexterous, but favor the right.

I know this might sound funny but it could be as simple as you are lying on your fingers in your sleep, or they are in an uncomfortable position. Once my arm's circulation was cut off and I dreamed it was being operated on. Another time my foot went to sleep and I dreamed a rattle snake bit my leg. When I woke up, my foot was numb and tingling!

Simplest explanation is that you fear becoming powerless, or losing control, over something in your life. Losing fingers means you've lost the ability to interact with the tangible world around you, so that's a pretty solid subconscious indicator.
