MUST is a very strong prerequisite. We SHOULD help others as much as we can and everyone has different degree of capability to help others - some help with money, some help with time, some help with talent, some even use "sin" to ultimately help others like lying, stealing, and even killing. I don't think one should militantly go out of their way to help others, but if one is presented with the opportunity to help and one has the the means to do it, then Yes, they should.

Jesus was chosen from birth to be the Messiah, but even he had the opportunity to turn away from doing what he did. Ultimately, he did choose to "drink of the cup" and accepted to be the ultimate sacrifice, so that he may save the soles of those who believe in him.

He set a great example, but I believe every one of us has the inert capability to help others. Even non-Christians help each other. Buddhists are all about helping the mankind. Another great example is Oscar Schindler - a Nazzi profitier who spend every penny he had, who sacrificed his safety and put his life on the line -and helped hundred's of Jews escape certain death in the war camps. Muslims help each other all the time.

So maybe it's the Holy Spirit which is in us, as much as the example of Christ, that gives us the urge to help others. Some people will help, other will put down and destroy...it's the constant Ying and Yang of the universe. Just do the best you can with what you've got.

There WAS a benefit for Jesus.

(Hebrews 12:2) as we look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus. For the joy that was set before him he endured a torture stake, despising shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

I don't agree.

If there is no benefit for God in what Jesus did, why then does God want people to worship him? (Jesus/God would be the same being, according to the Trinity belief)

He doesn't merely want their love, he wants their worship too.

If Jesus doing what he did has allowed more people to be "saved", that means more people in Heaven worshipping in the afterlife. What does God get out of that? Surely there's something or he wouldn't desire the worship.
