During 1800s, Anthropologists had a problem as to
how to classify human beings. One researcher
proposed the expression "intelligent animal".
After advanced studies on monkeys, it was dropped.
Another researcher proposed "tool using animal".
After observing some animals making wooden tools
and sharpening them with knife like stones, it was
dropped. Another researcher proposed "weapon using
animal". A decade ago, a rare film was shot by an
amateur in an African forest. One short monkey was
hit very badly by a big monkey. The short monkey
prepared a wooden knife using stones and hid it on
the top of a tree. After some days, when the big
monkey came to attack the short monkey, it ran up
to the tree for the weapon it has hid and killed
the big monkey. The one thing that the
anthropologists found with any group of human
beings, even if they did not have contacts with
the out side world for thousands of years, has
spirituality with some form of religion. So, man
is a "spiritual animal" if you want to call him
that way.

The Upanishads say that "Manush" (human) was so
named because he has "Manas" a mind higher than
that of the animals which realizes the divinity in
creation. It was present since the creation of
human beings. Religion is the characteristic
feature of most of the human beings. It was not
attained through reasoning using mind. Illiterate
tribes located in inaccessible forests also have
religion. It is as eternal and and as unchanging
as the Almighty. Disbelief by a few will not
affect it.

Religion is not a blind following. It is a sub-consciously driven
group ritual. It calms the 'collective unconscious' mind. The
religious culture brings unity and belongedness among the followers.

All the religions of the world are based upon the principles of truth, justice and righteousness. No religion is based upon blind faith, they are all based upon accurate theory. Man misinterprets religion for their own selfish ends.

WHERE DID THEORY START?????? man is always in quest to fill the gap of placing his faith on something...(accurate) theory cannot be something he can place his trust on... today's science is tomorrow's history theories have not stood the test of history.... religion is the science that stood the test of history... and for your kind information religion (not religions)is not a blind faith (faith is the substance of things unseen and evidence of things hoped for) but just FAITH-forsaking all I trust Him. Father all into Thy hands. religion is faith based on scientific principles and not theories....

Religion is way of life.
It does not have any scientific theory. To lead a honest life is religion,Without any hipocracy.
Faith is always blind.
There is saying "mother is fact father is faith"
Similarly God is faith but without hipocracy.

'religion' is a broad category to point just one basic principle for all. the principles are formed in time depending on a goal a particular religion pursues at a moment. for example christianity was formed as 'faith of slaves', who could not overcome oppression from roman empire, hence developed a concept according to which after the death they go to heaven and the romans go to hell, as pagans. it worked and it really helped the slaves to overcome the suffering.

when christianity was accepted as state religion in rome, it reformed forming 'there's no ruler not from god', hence offending a ruler means offending gos, which means hell. so, christianity was adopted by romans as a method of control. it was widely used us such during the middle ages, resulting in crusades and inquisition.

now, christianity is no part of state system and sure is not a method of control (in any efficient meaning of this world), so it reforms. now, the goal, at least generally, is consolation to those in need. and it works, at least in most of times. so now, christianity is love, universal compassion, a concept not familiar to ancient romans or medieval peasants. the conditions and the goals change the concept, which changes the basis, which changes manifestations. it is a natural process.

thing is, every change results in change of the concept/theory. even if one person develops a concept, it is likely to not be accurate. now, if great many people develop a concept, not generally consulting to each other, collisions are inevitable, even if multiple attempts for correction were done. so, inaccuracy of a concept hints to multiple sources and number of alterations. inaccuracy to one extent or another present in any religious concept or similarly expand scientific theory.

there are religions which change little, because their goal stays the same. for example buddhism and, generally, tao. goal of buddhism originally was achieving happiness for a person. it still is the same. little changes plus way more time to correct inconsistances result in a pretty accurate theory, and a one very expanded i must add for only the canonical texts number 80 000.

so, things depend and vary from one particular religion (and time) to another. for an adequate judgment here serious research is required.

good luck to you.

It was blind belief for the ordinary men of the past who considered those who spoke of it as all-knowing and hence knew the theory that they did not know or god did not chose them to reveal.
But is now accurate theory since , if man can be an eminent theoretician , scientist and mathematician , his creator should be much more than that . if millions Can continue drink water for million of years , he source of water should be immeasurable .If billions of lives can draw oxygen for their lives for billions of years , the source , the paramatma should be inexhaustible ! modern man knows it and asks for it ,but the blind old men refuse to improve and change with the times that continue to change and stagnates the thought of god whom he portrays as an old ignoramus who just does does magic only without any principle , whereas as evan Magic is based on some scientific principles only.

Religion without philosophy is sentimental
philosophy without religion is mental speculation.
Both must be combined. Then it is perfect. You cannot have religion without philosophy. That is sentiment, fanaticism. And if you simply take philosophy without religion, without sense of God, this is mental speculation. So religion must be on the basis of science and logic. That is first-class religion.
Because it is a science. Religion means a kind of faith. It is not faith. It is a science. Science must be based on logic and philosophy. Science means that.

Absolutely, positively blind faith.
Accurate theory is not a component of religion at all.

Man is made of a natural body and a supernatural spirit.

Science adresses physical matters and faith addresses spiritual issues.

The natural body will die and rot.

The supernatural spirit will either live eternally or die eternally.

What will happen to YOUR spirit???
