Yes you're right. It DOES teach us about healing.
We have a "physical" body, a "mental" body and a "spiritual" body. Since the majority of our illnesses spawn from our thoughts (mental) and transform into the physical; it is clear that we are being taught a "lesson" from technically, all the "bodies."
There are a lot of people who do not believe in the power of the subconscious mind, and therefore, do not understand, or know how to fix issues that are going on within themselves.
There are those people who think we are the physical body alone, and nothing more. That is when our "mental" and "spiritual" bodies come into play. We create instances and have to live them out; learn from them.
If we can tap into our subconscious; pay attention to what we think and feel, we can then control what illnesses come about.
Love to all!

The question is related with Spirituality etc.The only instrument available to explore the world within us is our own mind which is profoundly influenced by the sense. Accordingly, mind teaches us provided that we have control of our mind. On the otherhand,an undisciplined mind is useless for any meanful achievement in life. The Self is the master of the chariot, intelligence is the charioteer, and mind is the briddle. The wise persons call sense organs as the horses, and objects as the roads. The Self is associated with body, organs and mind.as the enjoyer. Moreover, control of mind is not an identifiable element in the body,it is a gift of God or nature which enjoy total freedom to realize its full potential. The control of mind or mind focussing can be viewed as bring the mind under discipline.Once the mind has been control, the battle of Self realization can be won without much difficulty.Mind can also be named as a powerful human faculity which serves as a bridle when it is under the control of the intellect. The Universal Self as Almighty and and individual Self youare. In this way mind teaches us. I thank to the questioner to ask interesting question of Spirituality.

Our thoughts and feelings, which have been perceived to be intangible, actually generate a subtle tangible emission of electromagnetic energy from the impulses occurring on the physical level in the brain. These brain waves surround us and generate the aura of who we are. This is the energy that becomes dense, creating the illusion of our physical body.
The etheric body (aura) contains organs, which are called chakras (Sanskrit, literally meaning "wheel"). This is an energy vortex through which life force (ch'i) permeates the physical and spiritual bodies. When an energy center is not "spinning" properly, when it is blocked, the physical body experiences the dis-ease of the blocked energy, and manifests a physical disorder. When we pay attention to where the disorder is on the body, we can begin to heal both at and beyond the physical.
What the body is telling us depends upon which primary chakra is involved. For example, cancer is a dis-ease of anger, and when someone develops cancer in their breast it relates to anger at not being nurtured. Right side = yang, masculine relationship; left side = yin, feminine relationship. Many of us have to really look deeply to find the sometimes subtle reasons we have developed our dis-eases. As an general example, liver, gallbladder, stomach, pancreas, etc., are all related to the solar plexus chakra and dis-ease concerns guilt, anger and fear-related issues.
The body teaches us where we are disconnected with our spirit.

I guess it is akin to instinct. If you are feeling just odd, or displaced it is usually a sign that something is wrong inside. I think the term 'listening to your body' is a common phraseology that tries to separate the ailment of the body to the cognitive processes of the mind. The fact is we are not separate in any way. So, the brain is able to pick up on the subtle changes that occur in your body. It requires a more meditative state of mind since our brain is constantly bombarded with so much stimuli. So, to answer your Q in the shortest possible answer will be "I have come to understand how the body teaches you and it is through meditation and picking up on the senses"
I decided to answer your Q since I just experienced kidney stones. It was most excruciating.
Thank you for the Q

The body doesn't teach me half as much as I teach the body.
Too many people are slaves to their instinct. Real power comes from in turn enslaving that instinct and acting out the true will as a driving force instead.
Simple steps include taking control of hunger so one feels not the need for food.
More complex steps include nullifying the responsive rejection of pain, and rather accepting it as merely a signal.
And perhaps the toughest steps of all... involve the de-automation of the organ functions and the taking of their operation under manual control (e.g. heartbeat).
That is what I aspire to do.... and some day I will take full control of my body... and stop my heart just by willing it.

I take control over my body, not the other way around. I deny illness. I deny pain. I command my body to heal. it's the same with my emotions, or negative thoughts, or a number of things. In this life, it's all mind over matter. King Solomon, Christ Jesus, and St. Paul all taught such things.

The body will tell you when it requires anything...i.e. healing, medication etc.. But i do not sit about waiting for my body to tell me anything....I get on with life and things. It will tell me what or when it requires whatever, as sometimes it does it in a subtle way and other times it will scream at you.

The only one that teaches about healing is God. This fleshly body will not inherit the kingdom of heaven but your spirit will.
DO THE WILL OF GOD
You need to find a home church, be obedient, follow his word, be baptized with the holy spirit, show your self approved and do the will of God (Mark 16: 15 - 18)

yes, i do. basic requirement for this realisation is - not to allow extraneous substances to mix with our body like medicines, injections etc. reason is, particularly when we take allopathy medicines, the original characterstics of body's capacity to withstand the onslaught of illness creating germs is reduced. i till now having been rarely used medicines like the above, has a quality to know the symptoms of ensuing body disturbance. example, when i get a fever(this happens very rarely), i don't go to a doctor. i watch for one or two days. sometimes it was due to food poison. till this remains in stomach, body fever remains. once it goes out through motion, body temperature comes to normal. bad throat warning comes in the form of light head-ache. these are only examples.

It is believed that there is a whole miniature prototype of this universe within the body, so it ought to teach us everything that we need to know. Just that our perception levels have to evolve deeper.
