have had people fall in various ways but the priests seem very consistent with little boys. Why is that?.

I think what you’re seeing is media bias. It’s very easy to track the statistics of the Church because everything is organized and centralized in one spot, so the information is more readily available. The same cannot be said of Protestants.

Because of their disunity, it is nearly impossible to get an accurate accounting of the pedophilia offenses, however, I do know that despite the huge scandal the Church has endured, only 2% of our priests have committed those crimes. I have heard that the number is much higher among Protestants, even though they won’t get near the media attention the Catholics will get.

I guess you haven't read the statistics. Catholic priests and protestant pastors have the same percentage of what you call 'problems with little boys'. And this percentage rises sharply when it comes to married men.

This is my opinion but Catholic priests are not permitted to be married so I think this fact has a lot to do with who would choose to become a priest. If you are Catholic and don't like women, and what you do like causes you great guilt, then you might feel that devoting your life to serving God might help keep you on the right track perhaps??

All sects of Christianity have ministers who have problems with little boys. It's not unique to Catholicism at all. In fact with the RCC being as large as it is in the USA the numbers of these priests is a smaller percentage than in other Christian sects.

Actually it is not just catholics. There have been organizations for boys molested by rabbis that have been around for decades. And there have been violations by so-called holy men of many religions. It is just popular to pick on priests.

I think it is with male and female children and subservient female adults. As with all sexual predators they pick victims which they assume cannot fight back. The victims are equally intimidated by their own cultures to avoid any mention of sexuality, even abuse.
The recent conviction of a Mormon leader for abetting the rape of a young girl is certainly as heinous.

I've said before that the church needs a revision. It needs to allow clergy to marry.
