Halloween is a Christian holiday!

It is the eve of ALL SAINTS DAY- when we honor everyone- known and unknown- who has made it to Heaven.

In my program, we have a Halloween party because it is a holiday that belongs to us as Christians, just like Christmas and Easter.

Let's take it back!

If catholics are true Christians then they would never participate in the glorification of darkness and evil that is Halloween. It is like those dreadful Harry Potter books that try to teach our children that witches and wizards are really good and kind. Halloween is a celebration of the dark one and his followers. It is said to be a night when the dead walk the earth and demons are exalted. How could any Christan participate in that?

Sure.

Halloween is actually like Christmas Eve. The night before a Christian holy day.

It is the eve of All Saint's Day or All Hallows Eve or Halloween. Just like "hallowed be Thy name."

But just like Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday), Halloween has taken on a life of its own.

Christians including Catholics do not fear death, evil, or satan. In Christ, we can laugh in the face of death.

From an email I received: Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside, and scoops out all the yucky stuff--including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.

With love in Christ.

Well it is a Pagan Holiday (Samhain)....I think those who can respect Paganism and it's branches should be allowed to do so but others who hate and cry "satan worshippers" should not. Not any aspect whatsoever.

Although I will say that Sahaim isn't about getting lots of candy and dressing up...it's about offering respect for the dead.

If the Catholics, who purport to be "True Christians", would OBEY God's Spiritual Laws, they would NOT condone nor participate in such pagan practices of darkness........Here's the truth about........Halloween: A Celebration of Darkness.....http://www.ucg.org/booklets/HH/halloween.htm

I don't see why not. It does not contradict Church teachings. It does not follow that just because it has a pagan character it is wrong. It is a make believe thing. Have fun.

I got 2 thumbs down. I wonder what that was for.
