My overall answer is probably not well. But then, I start to think on it and I guess that maybe I could because to be sent there , would mean that I had been convicted on something serious enough to get me there in the first place. So, I guess it would have to depend upon the why & how & what I did to land myself on the other side of the bars in the first place. In the 2nd, I do have a family to think about and that would make it worthwhile for me to survive my prison term. It does not mean it would be easy and it does not mean that I would enjoy my experiences there. As a rule, I like all types of people and would not be going out of my way to antagonize anyone. I would have to be kept busy, as I would not know what to do with time on my hands....it would drive you more nuts than you would ever think. I guess it would be my incentive to keep exercising though. Guard Dog

I don't have to think that I could, I have survived prison. Look the image that Hollywood gives of the "prison life" is just that Hollywood. In all actuality you will have to fight every now and again. But considering that you will be surrounded by rapists, murders, pimps, punks, and dopers(oh and lest I forget old fashion thieving psychopaths.) it is not really all that bad. In fact some parts of any major city will be rougher to get through than any prison.

The closest i came was being held in a Watch Tower for 3 days for a dui charge. I didnt know if i was going in for a 2nd offence, your hele with all sorts, some facing years for armed hold ups etc... When all you did was drive home after 6 beers! The thought that your life has changed and being held together with some real hard nuts wanting to thrash out at you because your "big" is hard, some of them are animals, you would have to step up, let go cause the mental anguish hurts most.

Since that Human Rights legislation in the UK, life for convicted prisoners has become civilised and quite unlike what you see on TV (especially USA TV). Respectable prisoners can now succesfully report their guards or neighbours for bullying or anti-social behaviour.
The exception is when you are on remand awaiting trial. Then you are routinely abused, locked up with maniacs etc in an attempt to ensure you will be unable to make a proper defence at your coming trial.
(I am assuming that you would be one of the 10 to 15% of prisoners who are wrongly convicted, or that you are guilty but not insane or perverse.)

I already have. I did seven and a half years, got out and became successful. Besides, people survive their minds every day and to me that is more of a prison than an actual one.

Survival is an instinct but I would not like to test it out in prison.

If you can survive the first 30 days
without killing someone
or
getting killed yourself,
the rest of the time is just that...
Time.
When you go to jail,
you cannot be all wide eyed
&
innocent
(even if you are,)
You have to adapt
before you go in,
You have to imagine yourself as
"Marsha, I'll kill you for no particular reason"
or
something that they are frightened by
such as "the unknown".
Everything is the right walk, talk & attitude.
We used to call it, "Billy Joe Bad-A- double S"
This is the only way
I could write it
so it wouldn't get an *.

Sure, I'd survive in prison. Maybe 'exist' is a better word for it.

Before you go to prison, research Habeas Corpus filings.
A prisoner who has knowledge of this area of law is very popular, and will be taken care of (pleasantly).
If you can get someone out via a HC filing, you will become the jailhouse legend.

You can survive almost any situation if you keep your wits about you. And show NO fear, they like to use it against you. Yes, I could, I have been thru enough in MY life and it made me confident and unafraid of anyone.
Can't live your life in fear, there are too many pwoplw that LIKE to feed on it. Well, they can get their meal somewhere's else!
