As a guy who likes kissing very much, I say that I like a girl who after the kissing has been initiated, isn't afraid to be a little aggressive.
I become very aroused when girls bite my lip while making out. NO CHOMPING! Just a slight nibble to put a little "umph" in the makeout session.
Kissing the neck is given, but sometimes, a slobbery kiss on the neck can turn off your partner. Stay away from staying at the neck too much. Though the neck is a sensitive part of the body, it can easily be desensitized to too much attention from your lips.
A far more sensitive place to be kissed are ears. Go as far as licking a guys ears is a little extreme. But simply nibbling on earlobes and kissing the ear is extremely arrousing. The hottest part of this act is the fact that your breathing will sound very accentuated to him because, well, you're at his freaking ear. You can whisper something to do.

My boyfriend just likes being kissed where ever I choose to plant it.
To arrouse him he likes to be kissed on his nipples, his neck or his ear.
To make him feel all loved up he likes it when I give a million little pecks in any number of random places till I reach his lips and give him one big peck.
At the end of the day every guy is different and will like different kind of kisses. So why not ask the guy where his most sensitive part is, apart from the obvious. Or just kiss the way you feel at the time, if he loves you, he will love any kiss that he gets.

A favourite way and place for me is a very soft kiss on the eyelid. Very sensitive there on the skin.
The base of the neck is also nice.
And finally, the lips, either softly or firmly.
