What I know of the Islamic beliefs , which admittedly is not much, lead me to believe that most Islamic people are peace loving, spiritually guided people. The extremists are what give me and most of the rest of the world pause. God, Allah, Abba, Jehova.....by what ever name one chooses to call the Higher Power, is the same no matter what tenet you decide to believe in. I wish you peace and hope that you find acceptance of your beliefs where ever you may be.

I think that organized religion in general is not a good thing. Is there any greater point of contention for mankind? Seriously, who really cares what someone else believes? So long as you don't hurt me or mine, I couldn't care less what you do, let alone how or what you think about the hereafter. The whole egotistical " I'm right, so you're wrong" thing is getting pretty old, and I'm sick of hearing about it.

Very strict.. is a very strong belief and if you are not a strong beliver in Mohamed then you should stay away from this religion. Muslims are usually very united and pray 5 times a day.... More that we " Christians pray" ... Thats y i will never convert to islam.. im too lazy to pray 5 times a day and wash my face everytimes i do it lol.

Dazzle, I think it's too restrictive.
I think there are too many rules in your religion.
I think the consequences for bending those rules are exceedingly harsh.
I think old farts wrote the quran and it's as bogus as the bible.
I hate how, when you ask Muslims why they say their religion is one of peace, when the quran is so X-rated and full of violence and behaviour normally considered "criminal activity" today, they haven't got an answer. (Because their clerics have no answer).
Islam chokes the individuality out of every Muslim so that they're all the same.
Muslims' only aim in their lives is to worship some god and some guy who "said" he spoke to the god.
Muslims just "exist" on planet Earth.
Islam is way over-rated.
It's no better than any other religion.
You're probably a very sweet person, so I mean you no offense, but you DID ask for our opinions. This is mine.

I think it is a beautiful religion, and there are great truths to be found in the Quran. I also think it has been hijacked by men with their own vision of the world and their place in it, and intermingled with Arab social tribalism to the point that in many cases it is merely a twisted, dark shell of what Islam is supposed to be.
Of course, similar things have happened in Christianity as well.

The 'politically correct' answers above are all very well but here it is:
Islam is a meld of borrowed earlier religions including Christianity and Paganism, and some others, like Hinduism, and an earlier moon-worship, all stirred around and added to by a self-appointed 'prophet' who any dumb camel-herder way back then would believe, incorporating some good ideas and lots of very stupid concepts, resulting in wild mis-interpretations, subjugation of women, widespread death and destruction and such childhood indoctrination that no muslim is really free to think for himself (don't even THINK of a woman thinking for herself) upon pain of death.
In general, most muslims sit back and do NOTHING about the atrocities carried out by muslims. Doing nothing is the same as agreeing with those actions.
Effectively, therefore, islam is distrusted and even abhorred globally. A disgrace to the human race.

Islamic religion is so much more beautiful and less hypocritical than Christianity. I love Islamic art, even though I am an atheist.
