I have some questions on Methylphenidates for ninth grade health in Pennsylvania, particularlly focusing on the ADHD supportive drug, Concerta, and its incredibly quick-rising popularity as a recreational drug among the teen and adult audiences.

1. If you were to take three white 36 mg/g (I can't remember what the teacher said, I think it's mg), what kind of feelings/symptoms would I encounter?

2. Why do some people use it recreationally?

3. Is there a possibility of a nation/statewide law preventing the use of it?

4. Of the people who use it, what percentage develop an addiction? Is there even any kind of physical dependency for Concerta?

5. About how many of the above stated Concerta pills would it take for the average person to overdose?

6. If there is an psychological effect, how long does it last for one pill? Two pills? Three?

When, and if you answer these questions, please put the number of the question that the answers corresponds with.

Thank you, very much!!

In my mind, the high produced by methylphenidate is more imagined than real. A trip to Starbucks would be cheaper and legal. Side effects depend on individual response, but can include nervousness, anxiety, rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure. Tremors occur on occasion.
2. People use it recreationally because they are stupid risk-takers.
3. Methylphenidate (Concerta and others) is a controlled substance. It is already illegal to sell or to give it to a person other than for whom it was prescribed.
4. I personally think the risk of addiction is low. And the type of addiction is akin to a person who needs his cup of coffee in the morning. However, as I said before, drug abusers are risk-takers and will probably try something worse. Many of these persons are depressed and look for relief via drug experimentation.
5 + 6. I don't know.

If they think your urine is watered down they will do a PH level test to see if you purposely diluted your UA. It's considered a amphetamine that's why it would show up that way. Why not just do to the doc and get it prescribed???
