Yes, it is the same thing if you look at it from the point of view of yeilding not to the temptation of that which you know is wrong.

You yourself do not have to test your own faith or belief for there are many of those whom will do that for you. To hear other points of view is not against a particular religion, however, to consider them and go against that which you know and believe to be right is against your religion.

Not in the least. Please! Ask me questions that make me question my beliefs, test them and consider other points of view. That is PRECISELY how we are supposed to keep our faith strong! If it our faith can't take testing, then it's weak. But Faith is built on evidence (Hebrews 11:1), not just blind belief as some people think. If you can't come up with a logical reason for why you believe the way you do, then you're just walking around brainless! Those who have closed minds are the WEAKEST in their faith, because they are afraid someone will call them out!

No! These are not the same thing. In religion it may be but not in Christianity. Christianity is not a religion (a set of rules to live by to earn brownie points) it is a relationship with Jesus. With God, you can examine what you believe and the beliefs of others, I do it all the time. I always find that no one else has what I need. I sometimes find that what I believe needs revision. Questioning my beliefs makes my faith stronger, not weaker.

If You're a believer, and someone says "keep Your faith strong," You know what they mean.

If You're not a believer, and absolutely certain that under no circumstances could You ever even understand being a believer, of what use to You is the answer to this question? Is it against Your atheism to examine that?

True faith is always tested and tested severely -- like gold that is tested in the fire to make it pure. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. We are all guilty before God. We have done things we are deeply ashamed of. Who wants their personal life put on the big screen for everyone to see? What good are silly arguments when God shines His light on us and we see ourselves the way we really are. I can hear, I am a good person. We all justify ourselves until God brings us to account. It is best to make the right choices while we still have breath. Forget the past and start making smart choices now.

The Bible tells us to test the spirits. And seek the truth. And the true born again believers have all ready tested the non believers spirits. We have all ready been there! I know they cant say the same. I dont think there can be a human being on this earth that could experience what i have and not be convinced of who God is..

There is something about the Christian faith that most people never see or understand.

You can take this or leave it, it's up to you. Jesus followers were given authority to do many things beyond the human capacity. One of which is healing. Many others, I won't get into.

The believer must connect with the Holy Spirit, in order to stay in a state of faith, for these things to be accomplished. It takes much prayer and going deep within ourselves, with the Lord's help.

So, without completely explaining, hopefully I've given you enough info for you to understand that the believer keeps their faith strong for many important reasons. Reasons that benefit us and that we don't want to lose.

We really do have something that everyone would want, if they only understood but to understand, one must first give themselves to Jesus. He loves us before we know Him, but we have to make that step. He won't make it for us.

If you drive a car, do you ever stop to think about It cranking when you get Into It ? Probably not. You like me just automatically think It will crank. What's funny Is we're surprized when It doesn't. We're told In God's word to examine ourselves to make sure we're still In the faith. Renew our minds with the word of God daily, prayer & worship. God's word Is our measuring stick. If we don't measure up then we need to get before the Lord and repent. Ask Him to help us In this area.

Haha! Did you ever hear the saying "Keep your mind open, but don't let your brain fall out!"?

I'm a traditional Catholic and been in countless debates but never does one argument make a lick of sense to me. I've never walked away feeling confused or stumped. Everything in the Church makes sense. It's wonderful! It's like having a Dad that has the answers to every question and feeling "My Dad is the smartest guy alive!"

Keeping your faith strong simply means renewing your mind constantly with God's Word. Keeping your mind closed is simply refusal to listen to anything other than what you choose to listen to.
