Sadly, I am a snoring husband...I took Nasonex for allergies and lo and behold! My snoring stopped. My wife is so happy!

The breath right things do help a little.

If he is a really bad snorer, where it sounds like he is almost chocking he could have apnia, where his breathing stops from time to time. Good news for that! There is a cure...tell his doctor to order a sleep test. The bad news about that, untreated, apnia is really bad for the heart.

I used strips similar to Breate Right for a while but didn't notice much change.

It would be better to find out why your husband snores and treat the source. I snore, for example, because I have a lot of allergies. When I eat something I am mildly allergic to, I react by getting stuffed up. That leads to snoring at bedtime. I would probably be snore free if I could avoid the 43 foods I'm allergic to -- but that's hard to do. :)

I've heard sleep apnea can be tied to snoring. It's a far more serious sleeping problem than having a stuffed up nose. Not only does it include snoring, it can cause the sleeper to stop breathing momentarily, then start again. This means the sleeper never really reaches deep sleep and true rest. The result is always being tired and all the bad symptoms that go with lack of sleep.

Until you know why he's snoring, you won't know how to solve the problem. Can you get him to schedule a visit with his doctor?

Breathe-Right-Strips are rarely successful at preventing snoring. Snoring is caused by an increased amount of tissue, or a decreased amount of space in the lower nasal passages. Spreading out the nostrils rarely have any effect on this.

ya know, ive actually used them before cause unfortunately i snore and my friends have told me they work, i used the breath right strips that came with mentholatum(sp){like that vicks vapor rub smell attached to the strip and when you scratched them it released the scent and would clear up my sinuses and i think that helped the snoring but i found that it iriatated the skin on top of my nose so i would only use them if i was sleeping near someone...
ps-they dont totally eliminate snoring just make it not so loud-you could also try ear plugs! =(

better to use the spray rather than the strips. They fall off in the night and end up in your mouth. But they do work, basically they widen the nasal passages to allow the air in and out without making the snoring noises!

Let me put it this way. I feel your pain!!! Breathe Right Strips do work until he rips them off in his sleep. They do have a Breathe Right spray, Ive noticed it only works for a few hours though. I just wear ear plugs to bed and it sorta helps lol. Good luck!

They work ok. Try the throat gargle that you can buy at any drug store or Walmart. If that doesn't work he may need to be checked for sleep apnea.

They work for some people. Ear plugs for you. Separate bedrooms can work too (yes, you get to have conjugal visits!)
