How long do I wait after getting a girl's phone number to call her?

I've been swamped the past couple of days, otherwise I would've called. Is it okay to call the third day? Any opinions on this topic in general would be appreciated.

Everybody says to wait 3 days afterwards. Why wait 3 days, she might forget about what you talked about. I think its childish and silly to play those predictable games that people play. However, if you do it immediately or the next day then it will make you look desperate. I would say wait 2 days.

I guess a good idea would be to text her or email her the 2 days later with something like:

"I just got a crazy idea of what we could do together" leave some suspense for her.

"omg...somthing reminded me of you" or "omg...I saw something that reminded me of you"

"______ was my 2nd favorite thing about our conversation"

Keep some suspense with the girl and keep her guessing about what you're talking about.

Usually a day or two is fine. If she is interested, she will respond. If she doesn't answer, return the call, etc. then she was not that interested to begin with.

I usually start dialing her number while the ink is still wet on the paper she wrote it on..
