Lie the patient on the left side (left lateral recumbent) with a pillow under the head, extend the patient's left leg towards their back & bring the right leg forward. Move the left elbow behind the patient's back so the left arm is slightly flexed then flex the right arm and bring it forward and support it with a pillow.

You lie on your left side with the right shoulder leaning forward. Extend your left leg out and flex your right leg towards your chest.
