One responder stated "It's the future, don't think about the old USA". That is the problem-he hit it right on the head. The future will be bleak if you forget the past. This is the USA. We speak and write English. We have laws that are meant to control our borders. We have laws that are meant to control our welfare system. The immigrants from Europe-Asia-Canada and most other areas don't take it as a personal vendetta to change our rules. A US public school that would hold any kind of meeting in another language than English should be shut down and the elected officals impeached!! USMC 60-68

In many cases, since there is no term for it in Spanish, you get as close as you can and by definition, you will nail it. you can say "Donde se conocen la escuela y las maestras" and the listener will know what you are aiming at. Many times a description works because there is no term. I looked up blender and toaster in an online Spanish English dictionary and there were no results. I went next door and asked a guy who went to the back and asked the cooks in the kitchen. I received "liquadora" and it IS something that makes liquids. By definition it works. That is what you have to do.

It seems there is no direct equivalent. My dictionary says:
a (informal reception) fiesta que dura varias horas y a la que
se puede llegar en cualquier momento
b (AmE) día en que un establecimiento educativo, científico
etc puede ser visitado por el público
PS blender n licuadora f
toaster n tostadora f (eléctrica)
