Paul speaks to being content with food and clothing and not peddling the word for profit, or using godliness for financial gain.
Jesus said to freely give as you have freely received.
What don't people understand about being deceived by wolves in sheeps clothing in the last days?

Deception is the name of the game. And to some extent we are all gullible. As it says in the good book: '.... but evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived (2 Timothy 3:13)

They're fooling an awful lot of people, obviously. What sort of people does the Bible say are soon parted from their money?
