I work in retail.vI have been at my job for 3 years and I love it! I love my boss! he's such a great guy! But recently there was this manager hired and for whatever reason, he hates me. He's cursed at me. He yells at me in front of people. And when there's no one around he tries to be all buddy buddy & touch me and stuff. Nothing sexual, I don't think, but he pokes me and tries to joke around. I never told the guy off because my boss was on vac and I wanted to talk it over with him. A long story short I ended up writing a letter to my boss and leaving it in his office. This is the first complaint I have ever made on a manager! Now the manager knows someone has a complaint but he doesn't know who. I have to be interviewed 2morrow and he's definitely going to know it was me bc he has to be interviewed too. Any advice for the interview? I have no clue what to expect and I am sooo nervous. My boss says relax but I cant help but feel uneasy. Any advice on what to expect or to calm me down?

Just stay strong and be honest. Whatever happens, he was the one acting inappropriately - not you! The fact that you have been at your job for three years shows that you are a good employee with a strong work ethic. Regardless of what happens tomorrow, these traits will take you a long way. Good luck!

The manager should be put on notice or fired. You have nothing to worry about. You have done nothing wrong. He has a lot to learn about working with people and his behavior is definately not professional. I wouldn't worry about it. The worst thing that could happen is that you would have to look for another job (which I highly doubt as you have had no problems I'm assuming for the last three years) No one should have to work under those conditions. If something does happen you can always go over the bosses head to the owners of the company an file an official complaint as this is harrassement.

first of all the guy is trying to put a move on you. without knowing what the interview is, i would stay away from the guy. any other contact from him report it to authorities. as far as the interview goes go in there with a meaning. what i mean is you show your true colors and if the interview is for the complaint then go in there with no fear. if this is the job you want then fight for it. you may not be the only on this is going on with. remember it's you or him.

Difficult people are part of the big picture .
Look at this as a learning event .
You may even wish to start interviewing for other jobs .
Thousands of people change jobs just to get away from people at the old job .

take a deep breath and just let whatever happens, happen. The reason you might be so nervous is because your thinking of it too much. Do something to take your mind off of it, everything will work itself out.
