I believe that the truth isnt found in the form of a religion, but one of spirituality...each person has to find what is right and true for themselves, and perhaps practice a little bit of Tolerance and Respect....both for ourselves and others.

I used to believe that one day the world would be united in one true religion because God was going to kill everyone of the other religions. Later on, I believed that at least my own family would be united in one religion. I give up. I know that people are going to choose the religion that suits the individual. Some people will believe that they should always do what they are told especially if it comes from the Bible because we're all children who need direction. There are others that don't want to be told what to think but find their own course in life because children have to grow up and make their own choices with God's help.

It started out that way. The problem even with the original church groups, was that they tended to follow a particular teacher, in favor over others. That's something the original disciples tried to teach them not to do but man is man.
Now that's just talking about the true believers. Added to that, you have all sorts of groups trying to camouflage the true church (faking it). There is so much of that now, that to an outsider it all looks like the true church.
It's sort of like 2 teams playing football and both sides wearing the same uniform. Confusing.

There are conflicts because the Bible itself is full of contradictions. You can argue any side you choose and there will be a verse to support it.
Only assuming you mean Christianity when you say "one true religion".

Yeah, that restoration did a lot of good.
Personally I don't believe in religion. Any of it. I'm agnostic, so I believe in the possibility of a higher being. Just the possibility. I'm open to the idea, but don't necessarily believe either way.

People create divisions by our own weaknesses and sinful nature, and willful disobedience towards God. Religion in and of itself can't make one righteous, deliver anyone from sinning, or fulfill God's Laws/Commandments.
The only One who was ever capable and qualified to do that is Jesus Christ Himself, God's Son, who in Himself, is perfectly Righteous, fulfilled all of God's Laws, and never sinned.
Thousands and thousands of disobedient, conflicting mindsets, personalities, ideas and opinions divided the people, The Truth isn't found in religion, or in following rules & laws, it is only found in God, the Truth is in Him, sent into the world through Jesus Chris†.
That's why we need a Saviour. If everyone obeyed God and kept the Commandments, there'd be no points of contention, because we would all love one another as ourselves as Jesus commanded, forgiving one another and we would be united and of one accord.
Because we would "love the Lord thy God will all hearts, all our minds, all our souls and all our strengths", and be able to "do God's Will", but without Christ's Love in a persons heart, we will always fall short of the glory of God
It's not "one true religion" per se, that's created it's own devisions, and "conflicting factions", it's man's own foolish effort & weaknesses, by his own unrighteous inability to follow a religion and keep God's Laws, "by" himself, all alone, without God's help.
There is only One who can link this many people together, and that's Jesus Christ Himself--He is the Good Shepherd--the Truth that we all seek, is not even about a religion, it's about our relationship with God-- it's 'we' as human beings that fail.....
If we were each one of us, were to be truly honest, the Truth that we all seek, is Peace with God....
Jesus said, "I am the way, I am the truth, and I am the Life. No one comes unto the Father except through Me." John 14:6

The one true Church hasn't split into anything. The Holy Spirit will not allow it. Some have abandoned the true Church and founded unauthorized manmade denominations of their own, but the one true Church, the Holy Catholic Church, remains united in belief, united in teaching and united in worship, teaching the fullness of truth, throughout the world and across 20 centuries, and it will remain so until the end of time. God has guaranteed it.

because no matter what religion you practice there will always be people who will change the things they don't like or is forbidden to do to make it acceptable for them or others. that's why. it's not the religions it's the people. each book was revealed and it's the people who changed them, be it the the bible, torah or quran.

Well, if you're asking...my thought is satan working in the minds of men; independent thoughts; the need for people to be right; the need for people to prove they are better and smarter than their neighbors...the list goes on. I'm not sure why but once again tonight my mind goes to "Be still ....and know that I am God."
