According to Christianity, God has sent him to be tortured forever in a lake of fire.

But I don't believe that's true. If God knows everything, then he would know who would end up going to heaven or hell before he even creates them. So why would God bother to creat people that are going to end up in hell? And if the love of God and Jesus and having Jesus in your heart is what is required to get into heaven, then 99% of all humans that have ever lived are all in hell, including Bruce Lee and John Lennon and Gandhi and Socrates because they weren't christian believers. Now why would a good, loving, wise God make a world where almost everyone goes to hell? Also, if the reason why a lot of people go against God and do bad things and end up in hell is because the devil persuades them to do so, then wouldn't God know that it's really the devil's fault and not the humans? Why would he punish the humans with an eternity of torture for something that devil is responsible for? And also, why would God punish atheists for not believing in him when its not like they made this evil choice against God. Rather, atheists just honest do not think that God is real. If we're wrong, it's not our fault. Religion just honestly seems fake to us. So God is gonna punish non-believers for their honest assesment of reality?

Nothing in religion makes sense. How can it be the true reality?

If God adopted him, he will be OK. John 6 affirms this. God the Father commanded Jesus to lose nothing that comes to Him but to raise all who come to Him up on the last day. Jesus promised that He would do so...if He doesn't, then He lied to the Father which is impossible.

"I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and

I will raise him up at the last day."

Let's just pray that when your friend said he knew God it was for real and rest in this belief. Let's all be sure we preach the Gospel to each other regularly.

Jesus cannot lie. We will trust Him the most when we stumble and suffer.

He is heaven just like my grandfather was in heaven. If God is a God worth worshiping I would have to believe that he respects what atheists say because what they is what they think and what they believe is true much like any theists. I would also like to believe that he is a forgiving God.

According to my (limited) understanding of religion...if you dont believe in god, you wont go to heaven..therefore, he is not in heaven..does that mean he is in hell?...dont know.

i think if we spent a whole lot more time helping each other when they are alive..instead of filling them with fear and hatred caused by religion. the world would be a better place.

I don't really believe in god either, but I do believe that you live forever. Meaning you retire the body you were in and get put into another one as a dog, cat, baby, ya know anything. Im sure your friend is in a good place where ever he is.

No one knows what happens in the afterlife. Really doubt there's a heaven and a hell. That's just used to control people.

There's no such thing as heaven. You're friend would've known that and would've accepted that he's not going anywhere. It may sound harsh, but he's rotting in the ground right now. Just like my grandfather, and just like I will one day.

He doesn't exist any more; he died. That's what happens when you die.

Now, if the bible is right he is in hell; but if the bible is right, he was also stupid and evil, as the bible claims all atheists are.

If there is a heaven, all good people get to go there. What kind of God would have it any other way?
