I feel that I cannot do better than to quote words from the Coronation of British monarchs. The Bible is presented to the sovereign to keep him/her "ever mindful of the law and the Gospel of God as the Rule for the whole life and government of Christian Princes" (for that we can substitute "the whole life and discipline of Christian believers").
The Bible is presented as "the most valuable thing that this world affords. Here is Wisdom; this is the royal Law; these are the lively Oracles of God." In other words, this is the source of wisdom from the Creator; this is the guide to which we must turn to know what God requires and this is the living word of God which inspires us in our daily living."

It is the word of God as written by those inspired by God and the prophets. Like any written testimony, it is a guide book to understanding God. What is amazing is that the Torah, Koran and other writings such as the apocrapha and Dead Sea Scrolls are closely in agreement with the basics of the Bible. It is also a great and classic work of art and literature and always the number one best selling book throughout time.

Would you make a cake without a recipe ? Or If your car broke down due to a lack of having It serviced or even knowing when to do It & what you would need to do this,could you fix It without an Instruction book ? The Bible Is God's divine word. His Instruction Book for His people. Without It we're lost.

We need the Bible because it's like a road map to lead us in the right direction.
Would you take a cross country trip without first preparing for it? You wouldn't leave without instructions, right?
The Bible is our road map to LIFE,,,,it keeps us on the right path.

Its a long road to heaven and I don't know how I would get there with out a map.To me the Bible is that road map.
Example: Tell me how you would get to my house from where your at right now.
